Hotel Likoria

Friendly and we'll maintained hotel 5 minutes walk to the centre of Arachova. The owner's were happy to give us advice on where to eat and also the best way to visit the Delphi ruins. The room was spacious, traditional in style, but with a large flat screen TV, and the bathroom had a bath and shower. There was a small private terrace with table and chairs, and a great view over the valley and mountains, and the sun sets right in front which was spectacular. The included buffet breakfast was bountiful to say the least, and the price of €65/night felt like very good value. A great place to spend a night or two when visiting Delphi.

Our room was large and had a balcony. However, the ashtray on the balcony was not cleaned and the room was missing the remote control for the air conditioning. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, they excused it as they "had a new cleaning girl". This wouldn't have been that bad except that on check-out, the lady at the front desk seemed confused by our Expedia booking and asked us to pay for the our stay. This nagged in the back of my head all day, until I looked at my Expedia account and credit card statement and realized we were double-charged. We went back to the hotel (luckily we were still in the area) to fix this. The front desk refunded our payment, even though the lady who double-charged us still seemed confused by the whole thing, and they did not apologize for their mistake. Not even this would have been that bad (I can chalk this up to new employees or language barriers), except that as I write this review, I see there was another review a month ago that had a similar experience of being double-charged!

The Hotel Likoria was our first overnight stay following a long and arduous day of flight and land travel from Athens. We were welcomed by the family members who own and operate the facility - adding a personal touch to the business. The room was spacious and well appointed although lacking a safe and electric kettle for coffee or tea. Staff was cheerful and eager to please. When visiting the dining room be sure to take note of the chairs and tables - all made by the father and founder of the family business. If you are planning a trip to the north of Greece, this is one hostelry not to be missed.

Parking (in May) on the street just outside the hotel was very easy. Room was large with a big balcony with terrific view. Breakfast was a rather ordinary buffet served in a room with no view. There was confusion about the payment we had already made via Expedia, and we were required to pay again on departure. This is now being refunded. Arachova is a charming small mountain town with few tourists in May, where we were welcomed at a good restaurant. We would recommend staying in Arachova rather than Delphi village .

We spent three nights at the Likoria and particularly enjoyed our spacious, comfortable room as well as the beautiful panoramic view from our balcony. We also liked the hotel location. Although it's about a 10-minute walk to Arachova's main restaurant and shopping strip, we enjoyed being in a quieter, less busy part of town and didn't mind the back and forth walks each day. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, and the rooms and common areas were kept spotlessly clean. Our only disappointment was the breakfast. Other reviewers have commented on it being excellent, but that was not out experience. On our first morning the breakfast selection was quite good, with an extensive variety of hot and cold items. But on the second morning, there were considerably fewer choices for food, while bread and pastry items were not fresh. We thought it might be due to the fact fewer guests were staying in the hotel on the second day -- we saw only two other couples come to the breakfast room, compared to twice as many the day previously. Then, on our third day, there was even less selection, the coffee pot was not even plugged in to keep the coffee warm, and the breads and pastries were very stale. We were the only people in the room for breakfast that morning, and we suspected that fresh items had not been provided because we seemed to be the only hotel guests on that day. Apart from the daily decline in breakfast quality and quantity, we enjoyed our stay here.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very large and had a nice bathroom and a great bed. The carpeting was in need of replacing and the balcony furniture ( 2 wicker chairs) were unusable as the seats were rotted out. The public spaces really need an update. Still and all it was an ok stay.

This hotel is within easy reach of the archaeological remains of Delphi, which is why we chose it, though we only stayed overnight. There was a beautiful view from our room over a valley. It was very suitable for our intended overnight stay, and they were welcoming despite our very late arrival.

The hotel was very pleasant, comfortable and a good breakfast. We arrived late at night and left in the morning. It is walking distance to the downtown area so dinner was easy to get to.
