Maratea Mare

Hi, I stayed at this place for a week with my girlfriend in December 2009 due to all the wonderful reviews on this site. Figured it was a no brainer. Anyhow, this is a very basic hotel in reality and certainly not the top in Floripa in any way shape or form. The rooms are very outdated, the food is basic, and the management are less than helpful. What really annoyed me the most staying here was the valet service in their car park. The person who parked our rental car backed into another car and refused to admit this. When we complained to the management they insisted we did this not them. Very regretful and of course I had to pay the full damages for this to the rental company. Would not recommend at all.

Located on the beach, but away from amenities such as restaurants and shops which proved difficult.

Does not disappoint! A beautiful setting and the staff to match. It happened to be my girlfriends birthday and they helped me organise a cake and more. They had advice on where to go, how to get there and when in the hotel gave a great experience. The room was massive and very clean and the views simply great.... If only the weather had lasted longer for us. You cant have everything though haha.

I had a five day break between business meetings in São Paulo, so decided to go hang out at the beach in Florianopolis. I chose the Maratea Mare based on previous reviews -- I wanted something simple, clean, well located beach-side, with helpful staff -- and was delighted to see that I got exactly what I wanted. The hotel is quaint, with spacious rooms. It is very clean and seemed very safe. The staff were tremendous -- they could not have been more helpful to me as a solo traveller killing time during the off-season. They really made me feel welcome, going out of their way to ensure that my stay was a comfortable and pleasant one. I would have given this hotel a straight "5" across the board, except for the fact that it is showing its age a little; but that is not a problem as the property appears to be well maintained and managed. I will return to the Maratea Mare.

The wether was perfect, we can't believe when we saw the beach just for us; very attencious crew, fantastic sea view from all rooms, chairs and umbrelas ready in the morning; lots of entertainment arround like paragliding, diving, boat rides, nice restaurants... We recommend!

Great location, facing the best beach in the island with fantastic views. Tranquil, peaceful and relaxing environment. Owner and staff received us as friends and make us feel at home. Very clean apartments and rooms, fully equipped (wi-fi, kitchen, cable tv, parking) with generous spaces and ocean view balconies We stay 1/2 week on the island, we found this hotel to be the best place around. We will stay there for 1 week next time we go. German R

After spending one week in different places on the island, we found this hotel by accident and it was our best decision to stay. We even extended for another 7 days when the season started and Flavia got the beachbar ready for summer. Rodrigo and Maria are great chefs and we had several fantastic meals with even live guitar music directly on the beach. Flavia and Attilio are perfect hosts and become even friends during our stay. And of course André, who's the most committed receptionist we ever met (and speaks very good english too :)) We highly recommend this place to everbody who wants to have fun, relaxing days on the beach, good food and a perfect holiday!!! Here is our reason to come back to Brazil.

I spent new year's eve and it was wonderful.. the location is a dream, and the hotel rooms lovely and ideal for singles, couples and families! The perfect place for long relaxing walks on the beach and the ideal spot to see the great fireworks of Florianopolis on new year's eve! I would recommend it for gateway after a tiring year..

Privileged location, one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, top quality service, the hotel owner very friendly, the staff very nice, breakfast perfect, good price, everything very clean, very cute decoration! Perfect! Great service with caring professionals and a great location. I had never been but from Soho is now part of my favorites! It was a great choice and recommend it to everyone, for all the good we spent there
