It’s situated in a beautiful area lovely outside area overlooking the lake

It very clean rooms were very clean lovely comfortable bed food was amazing

The welcome was warm and effusive. The Bar was busy and service was good. We had the sunday lunch. 1 beef and 1 turkey. The service in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were great and very smart in their uniforms. Room was good, slighly smaller than i expected but had a lovely leather club style chair and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, great sausage and bacon with mushrooms. Beans and tomato plus toast. The service at breakfast was ok and the continenta offering was good. Overall, we loved it, worthy place to visit and the setting is beautiful. We stayed in room 6,

Main negative is late night guests returning at 00.30 and slamming doors. Loud cgatter and clattering about for 30 mins. A 2nd couple also woke us at 02.30 coming in but they quitly went to their room. Room 6 had a few knocks and bumps on the paintwork which need attention but easy fix for the team

Smelly drains, smelled vaguely of urine, windows didn't fit properly.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We had lunch which was excellent value and also a hearty breakfast that was included in our booking. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. I would definitely stay here again, the outside garden overlooking the river is calm and peaceful.

Accommodation was clean and well maintained. Breakfast and dinner were provided in a well appointed restaurant. All areas of the hotel were well presented.

Minor point:- the bathroom would benefit from a toilet brush

Good location for site seekers, Blackpool pleasure beach 8 miles away, dining available outside overlooking the river Wyre, various birdlife feeding on incoming tides. Country side walks close by. The food was very good, drink prices we thought a little on the high side.

Our shower room was looking a little tired, I understand the present owners have only been there for approximately 1 year and are upgrading the venue as and when funds are available. A/C has already been installed in the dining/breakfast room & new large kitchen is on the list. All in all I would stay there again but ask for room 6 (we had 9) which was recommended to us, both have river views.

The property is in a perfect location as we were at a wedding near by
