Hotel Classico

This was a wonderful hotel right in the midst of the most historic part of Bremen. Located right on the main square, one can't find a better location! Right out the back door is the oldest pub in Bremen! Each room purportedly has a different design. Our room was, I guess the Egyptian room. Bed was extremely comfortable, room was very clean and spacious. Hotel staff were beyond kind. Bremen is a great place to visit. This Boutique Hotel only makes the visit more enjoyable..

We loved the delicious breakfast every morning. Warning! The omelets are huge! We didn’t try the cakes and tortes but the ice cream and yogurt on a warm day was a hit. The Classico is located in the heart of the marketplace, only steps away from the majestic cathedral (Dom) and Rathaus. And 5-10 minutes walk from the Schnoor district or riverside beer gardens.

I liked my stay at the Classico and would consider staying there again. Breakfast was outstanding (a la carte) and the staff was friendly. It is conveniently located at the central square with connections to trams in all directions. The rooms are quiet and clean. The bed was a little too soft for my liking but that is my personal preference. Two thumbs up!

When I arrived to check in I was surprised that I had to walk through a restaurant/cafe and go to a little office in the back on the cafe. There was no one there. I sat there, ignored, for 5 minutes before I asked one of the waiters at the cafe if someone can help me. The lady was a bit rude and said someone is coming. Another 10 minutes. A guy finally came and helped me. He said the lady who works at the desk is late and will arriving soon. Finally the hotel lady arrived and was a bit rude. Not very professional at all and seemed annoyed at having to show up to work. The entrance is at the back in a alley when the cafe is closed and you swipe your key card to enter the stairwell. So definitely not getting a star for customer service or professionalism. The room I got was on the top floor overlooking the square. Wow! All the weirdness at the check-in was overridden by the room which was nice. Not top notch, but the architecture and ambience made it fun. The bathroom was also very nice. Sadly Bremen doesn't have a lot of historic hotels with character--mostly horrible business hotels and American chains which have little character. So given the spectacular location of the hotel, the incredible view, and the family-run quirkiness--I would stay here again in Bremen. They also have excellent coffee and croissants for breakfast (at extra charge). But given the very economically priced rooms it's not a big deal.

In general ok. Service ok however difficult to understand if your German’s not 100 %. Look into parking before arriving as it’s difficult to stop or park nearby. One of the few hotels who live up to their sign “leave your towels on floor if you want them changed otherwise we wouldn’t” Good! Perfect location right in center. Don’t buy ice cream at the hotel VERY rude personal.

Bra läge, sköna sängar och trevligt bemötande.

Mycket trevligt hotell i den gamla stadsdelen med bra läge, närhet till allt. Lätt att ta sig till och från flygplatsen. Enda nackdelen var om rummet ligger mot baksidan så är det en hög volym från skrålande bargäster till sent på kvällen. Rekommenderas rum mot torget.
