Torrs Warren Country House Hotel

lovely night stay, with shops not a far distance away.

We had the room at the top of the stairs, not recommended for average to tall people. Had to duck down to get into room and could not stand up in the shower. Also was hot up there without AC or a fan. Our friends had 2 of the lower rooms said they were GREAT and they would definitely stay there again.

We were put in the attic with no offer to help with our bags. My husband and I are both older. Up a winding staircase with just a warning to watch our heads. That was an understatement! We spent a horrible hot stuffy night in the attic though I did inquire at the desk for an alternative. The person didn’t seem to care. The one window we could open cracked about an inch and we dealt with wasps swooping around us rest of the night. Should come with a warning. Not good for senior citizens or people without a car. Never did see the owner. Glad to have left at 6am thanks to a trusty and caring cab driver.

Very enjoyable experience here. I love the bed and breakfast type environment. Beautiful property. Staff was very nice and kind. The garden was a perfect place to relax.

We had a great stay. Loved the room including the bath. The bed was comfortable. The lady at reception/manning the bar - give that lady a raise! So friendly and had me in stitches. This is an older property and therefore it had character and is a little beat up around some of the edges. If you cannot accept that and want everything sparkling new go to travelodge. Breakfast was superb, full Scottish breakfast as enjoyed by both of us but other great options inc vegan and gluten free

We called to advise we were arriving late. Hosts were very accommodating. However, first impressions of room was really good looked really nice. Issues were the shower head was black with mould. We cleaned that to have a shower as it was late. Wife wanted a bath but the free standing bath was wobbly to touch. The roller blind is full of squashed flies. Cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom and bedroom and carpet is in need of a deep clean. Bathroom had a horrible damp smell in the morning. Breakfast was fine and the lady who served breakfast was lovely. We hoped to have a later breakfast but was advised only times available was 7:30 or 7:45. We left immediately after breakfast as felt the cleanliness of the room was an issue for us and this is why we feel unfortunately it was not value for money staying here.

Fantastic hotel, great staff and a great choice if catching the ferry the next day. Good dining option close bye.

This is a lovely property. Our room was spectacular! We stayed in the Blue Room. Although we did not use it, the Blue Room has a freestanding "roll top" bath in the middle. It was very deep even by British standards. The room was large and airy and had a couple of large windows that we opened right away. The shower was wonderful. The property is secluded and peaceful and has a lovely sitting area outside for enjoying a cocktail or glass of wine from the bar. We had dinner in Portpatrick, which was about a 15-minute drive and has several dining options. Torrs Warren was convenient for us because we were catching the ferry to Ireland the next morning from Stranraer, which was about 15 minutes away. Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast time, so we didn't get to sample the food. We would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend!
