"Bait and switch pricing"

The hotel was nice enough but unfortunately the manager pulled a hair and switch on the nightly rate. I reserved two nights on the Marriott site with the authorized military rate. There are no Marriott restrictions in this rate for military members like me. But when I got there, the manager refused to honor the reserved rate and jacked up the price in me. It was late and snowing and I had no option but to pay the higher price. The manager didn't even think he was doing anything bad by jacking up the price far above what I'd reserved it at. It's a decent place but just be aware you may pay a lot more than you expect. If they're willing to take advantage of unsuspecting members of the military, what other discounted rates are safe from their suspect practices?
