Comfort Suites Gallup East Route 66 and I-40

Everything was excellent. The staff were very communicative and helpful, and there was absolutely nothing to complain about.

It was next to the train tracks and heard the train traffic all night.

Clean, comfortable, quiet room. Good night's sleep. Readily agreed to extend our check-out time from 11am to noon when I requested that. Pretty standard practice but I still appreciated it. Good breakfast.

We didn't get in till nearly 2am (traveling all the way from Austin, TX that day). Was told upon check-in (and sign clearly states) that breakfast is from 6-9am. Got up about 8:30am to get breakfast (partly for my family who was still asleep). Got eggs, went back for more at 8:55am and there was none (maybe there hadn't been any for several minutes before that -- don't know). I pointed this out to lady in charge of breakfast/kitchen. She said, "Oh, there's no more eggs?" She then lifted the lid to discover that in fact there were no more eggs. She then said, nicely enough but with no willingness to budge, that it would take too long to cook more eggs and so she wouldn't. Wrong answer. She then proceeded to point out what was still available. Okay. So breakfast there might start winding down about 8:45am? Good to know. If you want higher marks in my review and are going to be on the wrong side of 10-15 minutes, keep the full breakfast flowing till 9:10 or 9:15am. No guest will complain about that. The room wasn't all that cheap, and I expected a hot breakfast till 9am. But apparently that was going to inconvenience her. Therefore, her convenience was obviously a little more important that day than mine. Duly noted.

My expectations were certainly not met. Went to have a shower and the tubes on the wall were empty, the air conditioning was hit and miss from very warm then very cold.... not very well controlled. There was an unfinished plastering on the wall and the ceiling above the shower was unfinished work as well. One look at breakfast and I took coffee and left. The bed was comfortable and there were LOTS of plug ins and USB outlets.... Not likely to stay there again with so many other options in the area.

I loved how this hotel honored the fallen and living soldiers. Breakfast was warm and tasty. Had a great variety like warm eggs, sausage and waffles. Also had yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs and plenty more. The beds were comfortable and their bedsheets were soft and smooth. And a sofa bed was available as well. The swimming pool was clean and not chilling cold.
