"Near perfect trip"

The Hilton in East Syracuse was a delight to stay at. My family of 3 stayed from Thursday night to Saturday morning to enjoy the NYS Fair for the weekend. We were situated on the third floor, with a large king bed and comfortable pull out mattress which our 10 year old loved. The room was spacious enough for our family member to visit one night, and the bathroom had a full bath and vanity mirror. We enjoyed swimming in the pool which has long hours, 9am-10pm. We also enjoyed the breakfast hours, 6am-10am, which is late compared to other hotels we have stayed at. The room, pool and lobby/hotel overall were clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff were courteous and considerate no matter the time of day/night.

The only thing we found lacking was the breakfast options on Saturday morning. Friday morning was exceptional, and when we went at 730am, barely any other hotel attendees were there, which gave us a smooth and enjoyable experience. Saturday, many other people were bumping into one another, and the food options were not as appealing. Still, this only brings our overall rating of the hotel from a 9.5/10.

"Clean and friendly staff"

This seems to be an older hotel, but the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Easy on/off from I90. Continental breakfast available. We stopped for a night after a long day on the road. It was quiet as well.

"Nice but outrageous fees"

I feel a $150 deposit for incidentals is outrageous. My daughter goes to SU and we have stayed at several hotels in the Syracuse NY area. We have never been charged so much. The most was $50. The hotel itself is clean and pretty quiet. Buffet breakfast is nice.
