Ballathie Country House Hotel and Estate

Room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view of the garden and the river. Staff were friendly and efficient, and breakfast was very good. The hotel has the ambience of a beautiful country house, with many original features. We have stayed here many times and the hotel never fails to please. One very minor point, the potholes on the driveway!

The room we booked was so rundown we ended up leaving with out staying the night and booked elsewhere in Stirling. There advert was very miss leading as to what was available ie: fishing and such. The advert was also missleading on the condition of the accomadations. The only staff member that was personable and friendly was the young lad working the bar. Meal was also over priced for the quality of the food and my wife found a hair in her meal they did give her a new dish. Overall very dissapointed and would not recommend anyone to stay here.

I did not like the fact the so called sportsmans' lodge was dated, tired and very cheaply furnished. Exterior of lodge building was cheaply glazed and outdated. Whole building unit of lodge needing upgraded. 1 of the staff condescending. Attended breakfast and was asked to move as they were tidying away the dining room. An extremely overpriced stay at £127. Drinks in main hotel grossly overpriced. All in all, an extremely disappointing stay for myself and my partner's birthday.

Very relaxing stay with good staff and brilliant food

Was there for a friends birthday. Meal was lovely. Bar man was friendly and helpful.

we stayed in one of the lodges. It was very tired and in need of an update. We stayed with friends who were in the hotel and the riverside apartments. I felt at the time of booking we were pushed to stay in the lodges. We had our dog with us but that should not have made a difference as she is well behaved. Balathie should possibly consider updating this year. If we were to think about a return visit and the lodge was the only available option, We wouldn't !

We were made very welcome from the start. Standards of service was very high, down to the last detail. Food was excellent, couldn't fault it in any way. You don't mind paying a little bit more if the staff, service and for are excellent. Well done to all the staff at Ballathie. We'll be back

Nice warm welcome on arrival and helpful in showing us where the lodges where. Breakfast was really good quality. Like the buffet aspect. Thanks guys
