It is located on a small Island and rooms and bures are two steps away from a very beautiful and enjoyable beach. They also have a tennis court

Food is good, they are also aware of allergies and gluten free intolerance, however the Chef never respects what you ask for or the list of ingredients on the menu. You ask for two omelets one with ham one without ham, you get both with ham. Menu says Beef Steak with Mushrooms, you get beef steak and vegetables but no mushrooms Menu says Yogurt with pineapple, toasted granola and shaved coconut, you get yogurt and oat flakes, no pineapple and no coconut. This was frustrating most of the time

The island itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning beaches and a relaxing atmosphere that makes it the perfect getaway. What really stood out for me was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Everyone was welcoming, but I especially want to mention the music team who made the experience extra special with their talent and energy. They brought such a unique and memorable touch to the stay. Overall, Matamanoa is a beautiful place with genuinely kind people, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful island escape.

The main area for improvement is the dining experience. With only one restaurant available in the island, meal options are quite limited, and the overall quality of the food did not meet expectations of a 4 star hotel. The wine felt significantly overpriced. Enhancing the variety, quality, and value of the meals would really elevate the overall guest experience and bring it in line with the exceptional beauty of the island and the warmth of the staff.

Tuvimos algún problema con el servicio de lavandería y no lo gestionaron muy bien,.pero en general el servicio era agradable

La posizione e' spettacolare, un paradiso terrestre. La barriera corallina e' ad un passo dalla spiaggia e facilmente accessibile anche a chi non e' un nuotatore esperto. La camera (bure con vista ad overst) era spaziosa e bellissima, con un giardino privato che pero non offre molta privacy. La colazione e' buona, non e' a buffet, si puo' scegliere un piatto a testa (dolce o salato) e poi portano delle briosche/muffin/torte e della frutta. Anche il pranzo e la cena sono alla carte e la qualita' e' ottima (soprattutto del pesce).

A colazione sono inclusi come bevande solo te e succo di arancia (non fresco e non buono). I dessert sono sono di pessima qualita'. Alcuni camerieri sembrano veramente svogliati. I prezzi del ristorante e del bar sono un po' cari, ma bisogna tenere comunque in considerazione che si e' su una isola sperduta in mezzo all'oceano.

Very private, staff were excellent and very accommodating, beautiful rooms, massage was excellent (very peaceful) snorkeling right off the beach was fantastic.

The food - it's OK but not great, there's some variety and the waiters are lovely, but it's just not cooked particularly well.

Die Zimmer sind super Komfortable, Matratzen außergewöhnlich bequem. Die Island Hütten sehr schön eingerichtet. Die Küche außergewöhnlich feine Kreation. Teller sind sehr schön angerichtet.

The staff was amazing. As a solo traveler, friendly and engaging staff can make the difference between an ok stay and a great stay. The Matamanoa crew was the absolute best!

The staff were delightful even though fulfilling multiple roles, including providing the entertainment. The sun shone most of the time and the water was clear.

The resort overall was a major disappointment and WAY overpriced. Accommodation: We paid NZD1100 per night for a villa on a rocky beach, a fridge freezer that couldn't keep ice from melting, no hot water for the last two nights, tired furniture and bedding inside and a daybed outside that was stained. We had to get the plunge pool topped up on arrival as the water level was below the filter. Our villa was also quite a walk from the facilities and we were told we just had to ring for a lift. This wasn't the case, they would say 'be there right away' and never turn up. There is only one buggy. Food: Overall a major disappointment. It was expensive, repetitive and uninspiring, very few vegetables - the only salad on offer was at lunchtime for $25, no protein added. Breakfast was a la carte, I expected a buffet breakfast with a range of options especially fresh fruit. The options were mainly variations on eggs and accompaniments; cake for breakfast seemed strange. Breakfast and lunch menus did not vary. The dinner menu changes daily but essentially the same things with a different sauce! Drinks: Expensive. Wine by the glass is VERY limited! Chardonnay, Merlot or Sav Blanc and only one option of each. Wine by the bottle was ridiculous, FJ$125 for a very ordinary bottle of Rose. Activities: Limited. We chose Matamanoa because it promised great snorkeling. Unfortunately the snorkeling safari only runs on a Wednesday and a Friday. The Wednesday safari was cancelled due to bad weather and the Friday one quickly filled up and there was no option of a second boat. There are 47 rooms on the Island and the boat only takes 10-12 people (yep, we missed out!) We did do a guided snorkel for an hour on the home reef, which was great. While the snorkeling off the beach was OK and we saw some colourful fish, sadly most of the coral is dead. Entertainment: The staff who do everything else are also the entertainers. They do their best with limited means!
