Garner Hotel Doswell Southeast by IHG

Rooms and bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was not as good as previous trip but young man in dining area was very pleasant and helpful. Disappointed there was no one at the desk during morning when leaving.

They cancelled my reservation with no notice and left me stranded in the parking lot with three tired children after a day at Kings Dominion. The person at the desk apologized but offered no solutions and refused to let me talk to any manager or help in getting me a room elsewhere. Completely unprofessional.

Beds were comfortable

First night, HVAC and TV did not work, no amenities, no refrigerator or microwave. Had no soap in the shower. Most all motel Continental breakfast offerings are to walk away from. The staff was a minimum wage youth that could only apologize. Second night, I was given a different room. Things improved but the carpet was still damp from cleaning, TV worked after I went down to the desk for a remote (missing). Motel experiences are steadily getting more disappointing 😞. I should have stayed at the Red Roof that was half the price
