"Adorable place to stay"

10.0

This hotel is set away about 15 minutes from La Spezia, near Cinque Terre, in the hillsides. Even though you're not on the water, the view is no less spectacular! I loved staying here and would do it again in a heart beat. Not a good option to stay at this hotel if you don't have a car. It is not near any public transit, as it is up on a hillside. Thankfully, I was ona a road trip, but not everyone who was staying there at the time was in the same boat. The wifi was also a bit weak unless you are standing in the hallway. The owners/managers are all incredibly sweet, but it does help if you speak at least a little Italian, or enough Spanish to understand what's going on, since their English is not very strong.

"secluded but fabulous"

10.0

it was hard to find, located in the hills on a dead end road. once found it was a gem. our private secluded castle with a nice restaurant. beautiful surrounding rolling forested hills, and just 20 minutes to porto venere and cinque terre. WOW!

"Rustic and Romantic"

8.0

This is for you if you want a romantic getaway in the countryside. This is really a hermitage not a hotel and is part of a very old historic structure on top of a hill. .It is a challange to find your way there and without the GPS we would have been lost .Be sure not to get the room above the restaurant as there is lots of noise till late at night .The restaurant serves excellent local food . There is no parking and you have to park on the side of a steep and narrow road and carry your luggage up 65 stairs.

"Away from it all ... Exotic experience"

8.0

What a great experience. A little hard to find and parking on the side of a narrow country road. I wouldn't hesitate returning though. Great room and private bathroom. Window looks out into an amazing view of hills above Cinque Terra (no ocean view). Attached restaurant served very good food and reasonable prices.

"A lovely stay at a charming location"

8.0

The hotel is better described as a B&B - it has a relaxed approach (we arrived to find a note on the door saying the owner only opens for check-in between 3pm and 7pm). But the place almost feels like a family home for all that and the owner couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. It's a very pretty place with gorgeous views over the hills. You definitely need a car as it is quite a way from the nearest town (La Spezia) - however parking is just on the side of the extremely narrow road. The room was very nice and clean. We were allowed to bring our own food to have an evening picnic in the courtyard which was very nice (the restaurant, except for breakfast, was closed). It is great value for money, importantly. We had a lovely stay here.

"Remote village"

8.0

We enjoyed our time there. We were surprised at how remote the village is and there are no stores but it is within hiking distrance of the upper trails above Cinque Terre. The terrace was beautiful with flowers and the view.

"Quiet getaway"

8.0

It was a lovely and calm location but too far from the city. Definitely need a car to get around town. Rosella was fabulous and very generous in her time. The room was spacious and very clean. Great place to relax.

"Quite isolated but very quiet."

8.0

Quite isolated. As we were the only guests the dining room was not available for dinner (understandable) so we had to drive 20 km to find a restaurant and found La Spezia a very modern town very confusing to drive in to. Breakfast was European standard (cafe, croissants, jam, pastry). La Laconda was very well kept and clean but hard to get luggage up the many steps to the room. The only parking was on the end of the mountain road with very limited parking spaces and quite a long way to get the luggage to the hotel. Very polite and attentive staff person but with very limited English.
