The Waring House

The room was nicely appointed, comfortable and all staff were very pleasant. Included was a breakfast off their menu, which was very good. The outdoor gardens and surrounding property added to the ambience.

Beautiful property! Room and bathroom were very spacious. A served breakfast was included with hotel fee and was delicious (local produce used)! Enjoyed the stay!

We had a beautiful time at the waring house. You dont even have to leave the property. The free breakfast was very good. We had dinner at the pub. It was delicious. The grounds are beautiful.

We held our wedding at the Waring House August 2025. Excellent food and the atmosphere was just what we had hoped for - calm, outdoorsy, classy but not too fussy and very personal/family feel to the place. Nora, the owner, personally ensured that the table settings were perfect. The wedding planner, Malinda, provided strong direction and timelines to keep us on course with the planning, while welcoming and empowering our personal contribution and collaboration. The talent of Howard the pianist and Veronica for makeup and hair were outsourced support that Malinda recommended, and they were perfect. Problem solving is key to any big celebration, and the team at Waring house certainly delivered. The guests were pleased with their accommodations which were plentiful as we had many guests coming from both east and west of the province. We had so much fun and our family and friends did too. Gardens were beautiful despite the drought. Thank you to the Waring House staff for all your support, kindness and generosity."

Loved having the Pub within walking distance. Breakfast is delightful and grounds/ gardens very natural and serene atmosphere.

The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure every guest felt welcomed and well looked after. We stayed in the Quaker Lodge, which struck a perfect balance between modern comfort and historic charm. Our room featured a lovely balcony overlooking the Millennium Trail — an ideal spot to enjoy a quiet morning coffee or unwind in the evening with a glass of wine. Dining at The Barley Room Pub and Amelia’s Garden was a highlight. The food and drinks were consistently excellent, but what really stood out was the level of service. While we did notice occasional moments where the staff seemed stretched — something a few other reviews have mentioned — what impressed us most was how gracefully and kindly each team member handled it. Their calm professionalism and friendly demeanour turned any potential hiccup into a moment of connection, not inconvenience. The best way to describe our stay is that it felt like visiting a close family member’s home. Even if there was a slight delay or an item ran out, the staff approached it with honesty, a smile, and a shared laugh — making us feel like part of the family, not just guests.
