Hotel Villa Carolina

Perfekt läge och ett fint hotell. Bra frukost (för att vara i Italien...), trevligt sol och poolområde på hotellets tak. Bra service och trevlig personal. Enda nackdelen med hotellet är att barerna bredvid var högljudda vilket kan bli ett problem om man störs av ljud. Undvik i så fall att ha fönster/balkong ut mot havet. Forio är underbart och iom att Ischia är så pass litet så är det lätt att ta sig vart man vill på ön. Ett tips är att åka lokalbussen ett varv runt ön. Roligt häftigt uppe i bergen på extremt smala och branta vägar. Missa heller inte ett besök i Saint Angelo, makalöst vackert!

Posizione eccellente, sul porto vicina ai ristoranti, nota negativa colazione.

La vue sur le port depuis la chambre était très jolie, la chambre était confortable et bien équipée, le personnel sympathique et serviable, mais nous avons ressenti un indéfinissable sentiment de manque de standing, comme si l'hôtel avait été prestigieux mais ne se donnait plus les moyens de l'être à présent. Toutefois, au prix des chambres, il est clair que le rapport qualité-prix était vraiment au rendez-vous.

Had a few nights here recently. Hotel is in a great location with plenty of nearby restaurants etc We used the bus to get around the island which was great although signage at the various stops is limited to say the least. We did have some language difficulties but they were soon overcome. Hotel was clean and comfortable with great staff although our 'room with a view' was very small with a 'sliver' of a view. Overall a god experience and the lift only got stuck once!

We stayed with my friend for a week. It was a clean good hotel but nothing special for 4 stars. Dinner was served outside, when the weather was good enough and the boxes full of empty cola bottles were next to our table. Good location, staff helpfull

Great location with wonderful views from the rooftop terrace. I am afraid it goes a bit downhill from there. The room is adequate and cleaned quickly and efficiently, most days while we were having breakfast. If you want a hot shower in the morning then please use it before 7.30 AM, as they are cold afterwards. Breakfast is OK if a bit dull and the service depended on if the staff could be bothered or not that day. We had the half board option and the dinner\lunch menu was very limited, but the meals were only occasionally good, mostly poor as was the service. Marco, who is on reception in the mornings, is extremely helpful which is more than can be said for the chap in the afternoons who could not be more unhelpful if he tried. Once out of the hotel then things look up as you are close to all the shops and restaurants and Forio is fantastic. You can spend hours just wandering around the seafront\marina and the shops. You can get a 24-hour bus pass (12 hours in reality) for 3.60 euros each to travel around the island. The public bus can be very busy however and a bit of a bun fight to get on. Taxi’s appear to be very expensive with a minimum charge of 12 euros and about 35 euros to travel to Ischia town the other end of the island. A trip to Ischia Ponte and Castello Aragonese is well worth the trip. The shops and restaurants appeared to be good value for money, but I am not sure if this is because it was October and if the prices are higher during the main holiday season. The local ice cream is an absolute must.

We struck lucky with this hotel. Right next to the harbour with easy walks to restaurants and shops. Friendly staff, and we had a room with a view over the harbour and with the pool/deck just a few steps away. Breakfast is served in the hotel, but lunch/dinner are served at a restaurant about 20m away - worked out fine.
