"Lovely but very sadly spoilt"

7.0

Picturesque and characterful county pub. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food good value for money. The bedroom and en suite bathroom were modest, clean and comfortable.

We would definitely stay at again, if not for one important reason. Our room was directly over the kitchen and our sleep was disrupted by the noise from the kitchen extract duct, which ran all night long. It was very noisy and intrusive. Sadly, it spoiled an otherwise lovely stay. Guests staying in other rooms had the same concerns.

Beautiful old inn in a beautiful setting. Fantastic Sunday roast

Needed food later, got to bar but told had missed it by 10 minutes. Food service times could be made clearer in room

"Friendly staff and good food but cramped & noisy room"

4.0

Staff were friendly and helpful The evening meal and breakfast were good. Pleasant ambience in bar

Room was too small for 2 people Bathroom was so small it was almost unusable There was a loud noise that we assume was an extractor fan that disturbed our sleep all night Room and bathroom were not clean - some surfaces were really dirty especially in bathroom.

"A fantastic charming pub in a beautiful location"

7.0

The location was lovely sitting next to the Ouse in a beautiful village. The age and history of the pub. Lots of working real fires added to the charm and welcome and lots of doggie visitors which were encouraged instead of made to feel unwelcome.

The room was very small to the point of almost being uncomfortable. It’s an old pub though so we understood.

Excellent location with lovely walks nearby. Beds were very comfortable. Room was very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food served in the bar was adequate for an evening meal.

Room 5 is very small with a very small but functional bathroom. Unfortunately it is situated next to the kitchen extractor fan which is quite noisy and only seemed to stop for a couple of hours in the early hours. That said sleep wasn't disturbed too much . The room also had very noisy floorboards!
