It was Ok, the best part is the closeness to the cross channel ferry. Also, allow an extra £12.50 to park your car overnight in the Quays car park

"No return"

4.0

Staff lovely, polite and helpful. Bar/restaurent nice, rooms and corridors not good, doors/bannister rails/skirtings very grubby. Radiators in rooms rusty, taps in bath and basin covered in limescaled. Had evening meal on 2nd night, not good, pie not enough meat, mash not real potatoes, carrots not edible. Nobody checked if meal was ok, we left and mention to Bar staff that it was not good, sorry was the response, mentioned it to the lad that had brought us the food originally, no response, mention next morning to a member of staff "sorry about that" was response. Not acceptable. On the 4th night toilet would not flush, cystern would not fill up, had to move rooms.... no compensation or even an offer of a free drink as a gesture of goodwill. Sorry for the.moans, but your board says if anything not right let us know whilst you are still here and we can correct it. We did, you didn't. 2nd stay in Green King hotel, will not be a 3rd. P.S the room we had to move to, sink did not empty.

"Friendly Hotel"

8.0

We had a lovely holiday in Poole, The Antelope Hotel is well placed for the quay, not the best for the older generation as there was a lot of stairs and no lift, I think the hotel needs an up grade, the staff were all lovely and friendly, and you could not fault the food, lovely garden, lively area, and they do allow dogs.

"Historic quirky hotel in a very central location"

6.0

This is a historic building, and as such has quirks. Do not expect perfectly straight walls and floors. The bedrooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Check in arrangements worked well. The bathroom was dated, and the tiles were needing to be restored. The bath was chipped but serviceable. The water was hot and plentiful, and there was soap and shower gel in a dispenser. I booked late, and therefore the rate was very expensive. The hotel is very central, but has no car parking at the actual hotel. There’s a nearby multi storey, less than five minutes walk away, but if you have heavy cases, that might be difficult. The hotel is also a pub, and does food and drink. There are many restaurants no bars within easy walking distance if you want Chinese or Indian food etc.

Well located hotel. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Bed okay comfort but pillows unbelievably firm and no option to change. In the bathroom unable to use bath/shower wash due to container fixed to wall. Toilet seat also not suitable for toilet.

Absolutely fine, was welcomed by a thoroughly nice chap who checked us in etc. Room was up in the rafters but was nice, comfortable bed and a magnificent bathtub. Spent an hour in the bar and enjoyed that, drinks were reasonable price and it seemed to be quite full. Had to leave at 06:00 to catch ferry so didn’t eat breakfast. Only negative was the toilet seat was quite loose and I felt a little uneasy sitting on the pan, expecting it to slip off at any second. Absolute not a show-stopper but needs sorting as it could be dangerous (didn’t report it as reception was unmanned when we left at 06:00).
