Fieldhead Hotel by Greene King Inns

Good sized rooms, though perhaps a bit tired. Room was clean. Plentiful parking. Good breakfast... but slow service.

Although the weather was not hot (beginning of May), 13 or 14 degrees at night, 2 of the 3 rooms I booked were too hot despite the radiators being turned off. The cooler room had 3 windows and allowed a through draft. The windows can only be opened a few inches so little fresh air can flow through. Duvet too thick as were the pillows. The breakfast menu was almost impossible to read due to small text and sections using black text on a dark purple background!. The graphic designer needs a talking to as do the marketing team. The service at breakfast was very slow despite it not appearing to be especially busy. It took over an hour to get breakfast. The food was good when it arrived.

Room was dull with no overhead light in main area and only low watt lamps, too low to read. Cutting costs eventually gets to be just low level service - radiators that did not turn on, no tissues, no shampoo.....

Nice hotel, good food, comfortable bed and a bath with overhead shower that you can lie in. Friendly staff with lovely ladies. Nice location with parks like beacon Hill and Bradgate park not far from the hotel. Perfect for singles and couples for a short weekend break.

Breakfast options that were highlighted in blue with black font. Difficult to read and need to change to a lighter colour like white ⚪ or yellow 🟡 Signal on TV keeps cutting out. Need another ceiling light above the bed as it was a bit dark there is only one ceiling light by the door.
