Cock Hotel by Greene King Inns

Location good, bed comfortable.

Bathrooms in need of a up grad, breakfast needs to be cooked in conventional way and not microwave for convenience, lovely old building but needs some one with vision for out side sitting.

Staff were friendly

Dirty, outdated rooms. Breakfast wasn’t nice. The scent of the bed linen was so strong I couldn’t sleep.

The staff at the Cock were just amazing. At the end of our stay, it felt that they were a part of our family, especially Christine and Zoe. They learned our names, what our preferences were, gave helpful travel advice, and in general went above and beyond to solve any problem to make our stay memorable and wonderful. Our room was kept cleaned and restocked with no fuss. The bed was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing. Great free parking in the back and I never had a problem finding a spot.

Our room faced High street and with the windows open it was sometimes a bit noisy late at night due to people leaving the pub, but not a big deal. There was free WiFi, but you had to continuously reconnect manually, which was a bit of a nuisance.

Proximity to the town

Very tired. Stained furniture. Grubby carpets

Clean and fresh room. Full set of amenities. Comfortable bed.

Unfortunately, the WiFi didn't work in our room. There was no signal at all. Only EE was available, and that was at an extra cost. It took ages to get hot water flowing in the morning.

La atención y amabilidad del personal. En especial, Christine es una magnífica profesional y muy atenta. Ha conseguido hacer mi estancia muy agradable. Le quedo muy agradecida.
