Millennium Hotel Chengdu

Perfect hotel. Nice area. Go everywhere by taxi and sights to be seen close. Probably one of the best hotels in Chengdu for the price.

Facilities: Outstanding; Value: Great deal; Service: Courteous, Staff know basic English ; Cleanliness: Gleaming; Great gym, close to restaurants within walking distance, European streets nearby are lovely, and there are parks across the road.

The Millennium Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a great area. They have nice people working there and a very comfortable room. There are many restaurants and a nice park in walking distance. It was also an easy cab ride to the airport and the downtown area where we went shopping and saw a show at a tea house.

The only problem with the hotel is that they do not offer wireless (WiFi) in the rooms. I have multiple devices and all work off of WiFi and I have to go downstairs to the lobby or to the Starbucks next door to get access. Also, access today should be free, especially if you are paying for a room!!!

All staff spoke english, area was clean and safe with local shops and diners to walk to.

Room was immaculately clean...the housekeeping even folded all my clothes that I had thrown on the floor after I arrived in my wearied state from traveling! The bath tub was awesome...very large and very relaxing...towels and toiletries replenished daily....the blankets on the bed were so soft (down comforters, I think) and the linens were high grade...lighting, carpets, everything was the best. I want to come back to Chengdu just to stay at this hotel. There is a Starbucks just next door for those of us who can't live without it, lol. Service was par excellence.

We stayed at the Millennium Chengdu for 4 nights in a Club room. It was an excellent rate and included a complimentary breakfast, free internet, snacks and evening drinks. The room was tastefully decorated with a luxurious marble bathroom which had plenty of storage for toiletries and sundries. The only complaint I can make is the insufficient lighting in the bathroom which seems to be a common problem in hotels and the unsatisfactory cleaning of the bath tub. The air conditioning worked beautifully and we were able to reduce the temperature and sleep under the down duvet. Most hotels provide a duvet and overheated rooms creating a very uncomfortable nights' sleep. Breakfast was fairly limited but adequate, with no fruit juice offered, served on the club floor. The staff was very attentive and the concierge supervisor went beyond the call of duty. He helped us navigate Chengdu's restaurants, opera, taxis and sightseeing with his ability to speak English and our total lack of Mandarin. He even took our cash to the theatre in his own time to secure our seats for the Sichuan Opera performance that night. He is worth his weight in gold and our Chengdu experience could have been extremely stressful without his generous and willing assistance. I think he'll probably be hotel manager next time we visit Millennium Chengdu! This is a true five star hotel which we would thoroughly recommend.

Good beds, normal western standards. room was clean, modern bathroom. front staff very helpful, spoke English very well.

The Millenium Hotel in Chengdu is pretty new. The facilities are nice and the staff is helpful. While it doesn't have the same level of elegance as the Shangri-la, Intercontinental, Masters Regal or Sofitel, the level of quality is superior to older hotels like the Crowne Plaza or Sheraton in Chengdu. The location is a little far from the center of the city, however. There is a Starbucks directly next door and many good local restaurants one street from the hotel.
