Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel

Quiet place, old style house, nearby city center. Underfloor heating in bathroom was very practical.

Room was really small for 2 people, there was no space for storage things, mold in the bathroom.

Location is perfect, right in the Old Town but on the fairly quiet street so you don't feel like in the middle of the party. Staff of the hotel are just wonderful, really helpful, welcoming and great! Breakfast was pretty standard in terms of choices but delicious :) Room was clean, tidy and bed was pretty comfy - I don't like big pillows but it's the matter of preference.

Buuut... I had a room on the 4th floor & that was a room of Karlson :D In the hotel there are 2 of those so when you book or when you arrive I guess you somehow shpuld be really specific about your wish not to stay there. As if you have a big, heavy luggage or if you are taller than 1.50 m you are goung to have a loooot of trouble & bumps on your head while staying there. These two rooms are attic rooms and there are wooden logs all around the room, ceiling in the room is very low but the doorway & door to the bathroom is even lower. I am 1.69 m tall and when I stood the doorway started at the level of my nose. Getting to those rooms is another adventure as you have to climb some old, shaky & weird stairs and sqeeze through some pretty narrow places to reach your room. For sure not a way for tall, not fit or claustrophobic people. I am not super picky and I spent most of my time out in Tallinn so it was not a pretty big problem or deal for me. Except two souvenirs = two bumps on my head from going to bathroom at night. But I assume taller people, older people, claustrophobic people or people with bigger & heavier luggage would have a lot of trouble staying in one of those two rooms. So be aware & when booking be specific because I just booked a double room & had a "lucky" lottery win of staying in one of these two rooms. :)

Locatie. Karakteristiek hotel midden in de stad.

Oorspronkelijke kamer bleek een zolderkamer die niet via een normale gang bereikbaar was en waar je maximaal 1m80 mocht zijn, want dat was de hoogte van de balken. Alleen in de douche was adequate hoogte. Dat werkt niet voor een lang mens. Het alternatief was bijboeken, zonder tegemoetkoming. Niet sjiek. Ontbijt was goed, maar al ruim voor tien uur ging het licht uit en werd er afgeruimd. Niet echt gastvrij.

Breakfast was good. The location was excellent.

Room a bit tight.

De trappen vond ik enorm mooi, middeleeuws. echt passend bij de sfeer van de stad. een mooie aura. bed was ook goed en schoon.

The place of the hotel in the center of the old town was very good.

There was no lift for the fourth floor, but the view from the window was beautiful.
