Hotel Bentheimer Hof

Very friendly, helpful staff. Interesting conversion of a railway station. We stayed one night while cycle touring and the hotel had an excellent locked garage to store the bikes in.

Close to train station. Bed comfortable. Food ok.

Noisy trains passing. Really Bad sleep. Loud music blaring early morning. No board or iron. No coffee makers in room. No water in room. No lunches available. Very limited menu for dinner. Lack of facilities in general

The hotel is a wonderful conversion of an old railway station. The bar/resturant area is beautifully decorated with railway themed stained glass. The food in the evening was delicious (though the menu was a little limited) and they were able to get us a table even though we arrived late (just before last orders due to traffic on the autobahn). Breakfast in the morning was good as well and we felt set up for the day. The hotel is close to woodland and the park that surrounds the spar and we had a pleasant walk the next morning before getting back into our car. We chose the hotel because it is very convenient for the autobahn when traveling from Germany into the Netherlands and we strongly recommend it on that basis.

We booked a double room and a single but both rooms had been made up for only one guest. This meant we had to improvise a pillow in the double room and share towels. Slightly disappointing - Because we'd arrived late and had to eat before the kitchen closed we didn't realise the problem until after the staff had gone home so there was nothing we could do about it.

The train noise was terrible at the night

Breakfast is great! the bar is a nice place, and all staff is very welcoming and friendly. They arranged a special table for us in the restaurant, and they gave us rooms nearby so we could leave the baby in the room while having dinner

the beds are a little soft and some of the cusions are too big...
