InterContinental Pyeongchang Resort Alpensia by IHG

We stayed at the InterContinental Alpensia Pyeongchang during a winter ski trip. Check-in was smooth. As the hotel was fully booked, we were not able to receive a room upgrade or late check-out. However, we were offered points instead, which was a very nice gesture and showed recognition of IHG elite membership. The ski resort, restaurants, and convenience stores were all within a 5-minute walk, which made our stay very convenient. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable experience for a ski getaway.

대략 5번째 방문으로 기억. 지속적이고 안정적으로 운영관리되고 있음. 시설이 다소 오래되기는 했지만 관리상태 양호. 식당, 리셉션 등의 호텔리어들도 편안하고 친철하게 고객을 응대하고 있음.

A miss for us. I guess we were expecting Lake Placid of Korea or Park City of Korea. Did not meet the mark for us by any stretch. This so called resort is in the middle of nowhere. So you’d expect a lot more on property but really everything is a ++ charge. Maybe by default Intercontinental hotels get the five stars but there isn’t enough provided here compared to other five star hotels. No pool. There is a pay as you go jacuzzi and sauna but men or women only so we had to split up the family for that. We struggled to find a days worth of activities in May on a three day trip. Excited to get back to Seoul. Crazy thing is we didn’t find the people as friendly as what we’ve been used to either. I think they would have rather we we left the kids home. No upgrade for Diamond Elite and the place is a ghost town, that’s strange also! Won’t be back but I guess we’re glad we punched the ticket. I’m guessing Coke in the winter. Off season isn’t worth it. Maybe a 3.5 star really but not 5 stars sorry.
