Port-O-Call Hotel

I was there in the off-season the pool and restaurant were closed yet they still insisted on charging a $40/night resort fee, which was not disclosed anywhere until check out. It was not disclosed by Expedia and was not disclosed at check in. Went to check out and they said, would you like to put the balance on your credit card? what balance!!! they insisted on charging resort fee, despite the fact that I never even saw a single staff person in the hotel, not in the gift shop, not even a person at the front desk until I checked out. The two days I stayed the pool was closed, the restaurant was closed yet they expect to get $40 for a “resort fee”.

Hotel was wonderful. Right next to the boardwalk so easy walking access to shops and dining. They also have an onsite restaurant. We ate breakfast there - was great!

Beautiful property, lobby smells amazing, kind staff, quick elevator, cute room, great views, it was perfect. I would highly recommend the property.

As travelers, we're always leery of staying at a new place, be it Condo or Hotel. My Wife and I refer to ourselves as "Prima Donnas" since we need to feel like we're as well taken care of, as we do at home. The Port 'O Call delivered on that feeling, PLUS! Upon arrival, we found several good parking spaces available on their lot. The Lobby and Reception area were clean, bright, and modern. This interior couldn't be dated back to the original construction in 1966- it looked quite recent in design and construction. Check-In was fast and efficient. We were surprised to hear our Hotelier used to live in our neighborhood in Pennsylvania and knew the area well. Our room was even more impressive than the online photos. Plenty of space with a HUGE oceanfront window, and a balcony with oceanfront view. The room came with our "MUST-HAVE" Keurig Pod Coffee Maker. The small refrigerator was perfect cold storage for our coffee creamer, and assorted drinks. The wall-mounted TV was large, and located in the perfect spot for viewing from the dining table or the MOST-comfortable bed. The Temp Control was spot-on when needed for A/C, and the sliding door vented the room on cooler days. The place was booked, but inside our room was so quiet, it was like we were the only guests. The Ice Machine was close, and always dispensed a full bucket of clear cubes when needed. Every Staff Member we met was warm, friendly and polite. A NICE change from the seeming disinterest of a lot of Service Workers in recent years. They even have a Gift Shop, where we picked up some snacks, candy and a really nice "Por 'O Call tee shirt. All-in-all, we heartily recommend staying here. As "Particular" People, we had a really nice stay, and were well taken care of. Refreshingly excellent hospitality right on the Beach, and close to everything the "Shore" offers. ONE OF THE BEST!!

So it was our first time in Ocean City and we chose Port O Call based on positive reviews . Check in was super easy and we liked our room which was a king with a coastline view . It was spacious with reasonably good amenities . The location is great as it is in the middle part of the boardwalk . Every room has a balcony , and my only complaint would be the very uncomfortable chairs on the balcony . We did not try the restaurant in the hotel , but it seemed busy each morning . Also there are many breakfast/lunch options within walking distance . It is a dry town , so dinner for us was a drive away , as we enjoy a good bottle of wine with our evening meal when on vacation . All in all , it was a very pleasant stay.

I just got back from staying here for a week. I have to say I wasn’t impressed with the staff this year. Staff was very impersonal and not very nice at all. This includes the restaurant Adelene. My husband and I came here 2 yrs ago and the staff was amazing. We were truly disappointed this year. There was also mildew in the bathroom on the ceiling by the tub/ shower and the paint was coming off the ceiling. I thought the rooms were renovated?! Hopefully the owners or managers read this and makes some changes.
