Smithfield Station was a lovely place to stay. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was so kind and helpful. Will definitely be back.

I normally don't do reviews. We have always wanted to stay at the hotel. This was ours and the other couples anniversary weekend. It was 3 couples. The rooms and staff were great. Atmosphere was good. The parking was not good due to the festivities going on in the area our opinion the hotel staff should've controlled the parking for the people staying there. The dinner meal was over cooked and not much flavor. The breakfast buffet food was room temperature. Bar drinks were ok could've used better liquor. Grade 1 poor thru 10 excellent Room - 9 Staff - 9 Atmosphere - 8 Food - 2 Drinks - 4 Parking at Hotel - 2

We had a wonderful couple of days. I love the hotel and we had a small dinner in the bar which was perfect. Very good food. Morning breakfast was a pleasant surprise. I hadn't expected it. Rooms were clean and staff super. I enjoy family run operations. We will return.

Let's talk premier honeymoon suites, broken toilets, and what happens when a business forgets that people aren't just paying for a room: they're paying for an experience. My husband and I booked the top lighthouse room for our honeymoon. It was the most expensive room available, and for good reason. The staircase leading to the top of the lighthouse, the breathtaking sunset views, and the unique atmosphere make it feel truly special. When we first walked into the room, we were absolutely delighted. It felt like the perfect place to begin our marriage. That feeling lasted until the first time we used the toilet. The flushing mechanism broke late the night we got in and we informed housekeeping the next morning. To be clear, the staff member who assisted us was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to help. She explained that the part needed to repair the toilet wasn't available, that a maintenance person was not present over the weekend, and that calling an emergency plumber was not an option (interesting that a hotel would not keep a handyman over the weekend). She did offer us access to the room downstairs ( ostensibly giving us access to the entire lighthouse) so we would have a functioning bathroom, and I appreciate that effort. However, if we wanted to enjoy or premier room we were left with three options: don't flush, or remove the tank lid and manually lift the chain in toilet water every single time. While I never expected luxury accommodations to include amateur plumbing lessons, apparently our honeymoon package came with a crash course in toilet mechanics. The final option was the downstairs room. The problem was that the downstairs room wasn't the room we had chosen, nor was it of equal value and if we stayed in our current room and wanted to use the bathroom downstairs we had to go through two locked doors with keys each time. Each room in the lighthouse offers a different experience, and the reason we paid a premium was specifically for the top room, the staircase, and the views. We weren't looking for a free stay or anything excessive, we simply felt it was reasonable to request some form of compensation or future discount for an issue that significantly impacted our honeymoon experience. After several conversations, we were informed that no refund, partial discount, or future credit would be offered. What disappoints me most isn't that something broke. Maintenance issues happen. What disappointed me was the apparent lack of recognition that this occurred in the property's premier rooms during a couple's honeymoon. The response ultimately felt less like hospitality and more like, "Here's another bathroom if you need it. Good luck." The room itself is beautiful. The staff we encountered were courteous. But a premier room should come with a premier response when something goes wrong, and unfortunately that was not our experience. For future couples considering a stay here because you're looking for a unique and memorable getaway: hopefully yours involves more time with sunsets and sunrises and less time standing with your hand buried in toilet water.

We had a great time! All the facilities are in great shape and well maintained. Beds were quite comfortable and the room was nicely appointed. That shower was awesome. Staff was always helpful and friendly. Can't beat where your place is. It's fun and beautiful. It's right in the midst of such a historic setting. We truly wish to return.

Centrally located for what we needed. Sat on the marina. Was clean. Breakfast was above normal hotel breakfasts
