"What a dream of a place, stay here if you can"

10.0

If we could give this more than 5 stars we would, it was just amazing. It was like being at an up market old -fashioned house party, we were invited guests. From the moment we arrived, Heidi could not do enough for us. We had the beautiful William Morris room, it had everything we could want, with a HUGE bathroom featuring a standalone bath and bidet as well as a lovely modern shower. Heidi had thought of everything, including a torch to help with nocturnal loo trips. Sadly the weather didn't allow us to sit in our very own verandah. Particularly nice touches included complementary soft drinks in the in-room fridge and fresh fruit. Also there was complementary port in the lounge in the evening. Heidi also lit the fire in the lounge on a chilly afternoon and provided tea for us. Breakfast was a complete treat with so many home made items, including fresh pressed grapefruit juice, Bircher muesli that was amazing, fresh cooked muffins and home baked bread. Heidi cooked eggs, bacon tomatoes etc to order and the presentation was immaculate. All in all, cannot recommend highly enough.

"Beautiful, boutique and homely"

10.0

Gorgeous boutique property with only 5 rooms and very personalised service. A little bit of homely paradise outside Blenheim! Amazing hospitality from Heidi, so friendly and welcoming and makes a huge effort with her guests. Lovely grounds and a communal garden outside the rooms. The hotel is about 10 minutes drive outside of Blenheim, so you need to book taxis to get into the centre for dinner. Gohan Asian restaurant was good. Really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend!

"Exceptional host & beautiful building"

10.0

Spent two nights here towards the start of our honeymoon. It is a very impressive building with beautiful grounds including a small vineyard where they produce their own wine (Chardonnay) which is delicious (we bought a bottle to drink whilst there and bought one to take home with us). Heidi is very welcoming, personable and knowledgeable about the area. Upon arrival she showed us to our room (the William Morris Suite) and then provided a number of dinner recommendations. After we'd had a look, and at our request she booked us a table at Scotch Bar (also recommend) in town and ordered a taxi for us. The following day she liaised directly with our tour company as due to weather conditions we had to alter our plans. That evening we had one of Heidi's platters for dinner in the front drawing room next to an open fire. Breakfast was served in the dining room, our first morning we ate with two other couples, the second morning we were the only guests. Heidi puts on a large spread with continental style breakfast including authentic Swiss muesli, as well as a cooked breakfast option and kept us well topped up with coffee. Our room was very spacious with a large bathroom with a stand alone bath. It had everything we needed including tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge/mini bar. It also had it's own outdoor seating area I had seen mention of a gym previously but could find no sign of it whilst staying here in the room literature. That said, I would not have had time to use it at any rate! There is plenty of places to sit in the grounds, including on the front veranda and in the vineyard, however due to poor weather we were unable to enjoy this.

"Average Accommodation not Luxury"

6.0

Not sure I would agree that this is luxury accommodation. It is OK but looking somewhat tired. Heidi is very welcoming and clearly loves her property. We had good access to a comfortable lounge area. The room was fairly dark with old fashioned dark wood furniture. The bathroom had everything we needed but a window with a path outside so people passing could look in - there was a curtain but we needed to open the window after showering to let the steam out. Breakfast provided some cold meat and cheeses along with yoghurt and fresh fruit - the figs in honey were especially good. Coffee seemed to be instant and was served with milk to the table - we would have preferred a cafetiere. Even when we ordered a pot of tea the next day, it was brought to the table and Heidi poured a cup without giving time for it to brew. A laundry service was available but quite expensive at $30 a bag.

"Comfortable base for the Marlborough wine region"

10.0

Heidi and Werner run a professional and welcoming small hotel and Heidi is an excellent hostess. The highlight is her breakfast which has become a benchmark for us on our travels. She also holds much sway in the region and was able to reserve us tables at otherwise busy restaurants

"Beautiful hidden gem"

10.0

Elegant single storey property set in its own gardens, orchard and small vineyard. Heidi was an exceptional hostess and we weren't disappointed when we took her recommendations for tours and restaurants. Abundance of home grown and home made products available for breakfast.

"Wonderful boutique hotel near Blenheim"

10.0

A wonderful boutique hotel hosted by Heidi and Werner. One of the warmest welcomes we've ever experienced with tea and homemade cakes. The location is excellent for walks right from the house and convenient for Blenheim and local vineyards. The Peppertree gardens and lovely. The breakfasts are cooked to order and are perfect.

"Living on past Glory’s!"

4.0

Sorry to say this lovely property is living on past glory’s. Whilst the property itself is lovely the Garden Room we stayed in is firmly staying in the 80’s. The bed which was two singles making a king was at least 20+ years old which makes sense given the top magazine on the bedside table was dated 2009. Once 5 Star l am sure but at the price being charged you can do better elsewhere. Heidi was lovely however we were not introduced to Werner which was unusual for a B&B.
