"Wish we could have stayed there for ever!"

10.0

Small Riad about 20 minutes walk from Jamee al Fna, the main square. Spotlessly clean. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room but owner will provide hot water, milk and sugar for you to make your own so take tea-bags and coffee. No fridge in room either. Huge breakfast with boilled eggs, fruit, granola, yogourt, cake, different types of bread, conserves, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice etc. Expedia description of rooms a little missleading. There are NO balconys only the corridor outside the 4 rooms overlooking the central courtyard. Private kitchen means the Riad can prepare meals on request, they are not a facility in your room. Lighting in rooms is beautiful but a little difficult to see if you want to apply make-up. Riad is beautifully furnished. Lots of attention to detail by the wonderful owner Michel. He made us feel like one of the family.

"Simply brilliant"

10.0

We would recommend Riad Al Kadar to anybody wanting to visit Marrakech. We had a wonderful stay with excellent food and a brilliant host in this beautiful riad. It may be slightly further out from the main square than other Riads, but the route to reach it is very simple - a real help for those who find Marrakesh navigationally challenging. Just wonderful, if we could change just one thing about our stay we would have eaten the fantastic Moroccan food served at the Riad more than just once.

"Brilliant!!!"

10.0

My sisters and I had a most enjoyable time in Marrakech, and Riad Al Kadar was truly special. Michele, the owner, is delightful! The Riad is beautifully restored with superb attention to detail. A fantastic place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone (in fact I already have!) And I would definitely go again!

"Excellent hospitality and Service"

10.0

On our arrival at Riad Al Kadar, we were met by the owner Michel who warmly welcomed us. As we had arrived late, Michel offered to make us something to eat. During our stay we came to realise that Michel could not do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble. He walked us part of the way to the famous Jemaa el Fna square the next day to allow us to get our bearings. Our room was spotless and overlooked a beautiful courtyard. Marrakech is a hectic place and the tranquility and hospitality we experienced when we returned to Riad Al Kadar each day made the trip extra special. The roof terrace was a lovely place to sit in the sunshine and relax. Something worthy of note is the fact this Riad is right beside a mosque which calls its congregation to prayer 5 times a day (one of these being at 5am every morning) but to be honest this did not impact on our stay once we adjusted to the magical tapestry which is Marrakech. It is also worth mentioning that this Riad is a good 20 minute walk away from the main tourist attractions, however I quite liked it being a little bit removed from the hustle & bustle of central Marrakech. I would highly recommend this Riad to anyone who wants good old fashioned hospitality and service.

"Merry in Marrakech"

10.0

A lovely Riad in quiet streets about a 15 minute walk to the main square. The owner and staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and provided an excellent service including some great food. Good roof terrace to catch some early year sunshine and watch the world go by. Would happily stay again.

"Home from home with the warmest welcome..."

10.0

The Riad is located in a quiet residential area of wide paved streets (not up some darken narrow alley way). A perfect resting place at the end of a day from the constant actions in Old Marrakesh. Once inside, the transformation is absolutely unbelievable, it is just calm and tranquil with the feel of home from home helped by Michele and his staff who are just perfect hosts. The inside of the Riad is rebuilt beautifully to reflect local traditional style and adorned and decorated exquisitely. The terrance too is a great place to relax and sun bathe. The main square Jemaa-El-Fna is only a 20 (max 30) Dirhams ride away in a petite taxi from Bab Ghemat and Bab Ghemat it self is only 5 minutes walk from the Riad. The breakfast was plentiful with variations every day. Dinner (which has to be pre-arranged in the morning) were of restaurant quality, freshly prepared (we had local cuisine) and delightfully served by the ever attentive Michele.

A wonderful experience! The room was beautiful and the food was outstanding. It is a bit of a walk to central areas but worth the effort.

"The Perfect Riad"

10.0

This beautiful Riad is situated about a 15-20 minute walk away from the main square in a local friendly, quiet (apart from the occasional call to prayer from the local mosque) neighbourhood. We spent 4 nights there and we LOVED it. The room we had was big, with a large comfortable bed and like the rest of the Riad immaculately clean. It has a relaxed and homely atmosphere which is a very welcome escape from the chaotic central Marrakech. A little bit of traditional Moroccan tranquility. There's even a roof terrace. This isn't the best thing about the place, Michel the Riad Al Kada's owner makes this already special place perfect. He makes you feel like a long lost friend from the moment you arrive to the minute you leave. He walked with us to near the square on our first night, left little cakes in our room as a treat on one night, and we decided to have dinner at the Riad one night which was the best food we had in a romantic setting, the highlight of our trip. There was even farewell hugs when we left. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Marrakech.

"Not to be missed"

10.0

In a quieter area around 15 minutes' walk from the main square, the unassuming exterior gives no impression of the beautiful and lovingly-maintained character of this building. Traditionally based around a garden courtyard, it feels more like a palace than a house, more so since we were very fortunate to be the only guests during our five-day stay. Breakfasts are delicious and generous, dinner is optional but highly recommended, and accomodation is first-rate, enhanced by great attention to detail and lovely little touches such as fresh flowers, pastries and fruit. Michel advised us on local attractions, assisted with excursions and transport, and his exuberant warmth and hospitality made us feel truly royal.

"Holistic experience of Moroccan life"

10.0

It is a boutique hotel with only 4 rooms in a typical Moroccan style house with a garden in the middle of the building and a lovely roof terrace. Immaculately clean and very stylish with every detail considered. It is run by an Italian guy who delivers a very personal service. It is not a hotel really but a holistic experience of the local lifestyle and atmosphere. Not recommended for people who expect a plastic 'supermarket' style of accommodation. Very good base for those who are curious and wishing to immerse themselves in a different environment. Try the dinners Michelle offers. They are an authentic home made version of Moroccan food prepared by one of the Moroccan ladies in house. Thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay!
