Breakfast was excellent. From pastries, to croissants, to muffins. The fresh fruit was outstanding and the cooked breakfast excellent. Champagne with breakfast Christmas day was fantastic!!

Super stay! You don’t often come across this level of service anymore. Highly recommended.

We have travelled extensively internationally and stayed in multiple accommodations in South Africa. This was by far the worst for the following reasons: - security was appalling. We arrived back from dinner at about 10pm to find we were the only people in the guest house. We were given no details as to when reception / security was manned until, just a note to advise if we are coming back late to let them know so we can be greeted. We didn't do this as we don't need to be greeted but we do expect basic security to be in place. The glass front doors didn't lock properly so some wooden shutters had been pulled behind them which had no means of locking. Our room was right by the front door so we only had the lock on our room door. We eventually heard someone else come in later in the night which we had to assume was another guest rather than an intruder. The protocols for any problems or emergencies over night were completely lacking. We asked about the lack of security in the morning to be told that the door had been left open for us as it doesn't lock properly and they didn't want us to struggle. - we were only staying for one night and returned to our room after breakfast to find that a housekeeper had been in making the bed, folding toilet roll etc. This was completely unnecessary given that we were checking out within the hour. We asked about this to be told it was normal procedure. We have never ever had anyone enter our room before whilst we are having breakfast. There was no need for our room to be touched until after check out. - we were charged for a bottle of water at check out. It would seem that the housekeeper had also checked the fridge whilst we were having breakfast. Apparently there is a rule you can only have complimentary water if you stay 2 nights! - the complimentary bottle of wine listed on the booking never surfaced. There was just some sort of liquid in a small bottle on the coffee table, no idea what it was.

I recently stayed at SW1 Lodge, and I can’t say enough good things about it! The accommodation was absolutely gorgeous—every detail of the house was beautifully decorated, and each room felt thoughtfully designed. It truly has a luxurious yet cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was fantastic and incredibly filling, the perfect way to start the day. But what really stood out was the staff. They were so friendly, kind, and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.

Upon arrival we were welcomed and made to feel at home. Our room was exceptional, the decorations had meaning, each space filled with purpose and we felt a nice homely feeling. Our host Tonderai was so friendly, kindhearted and helpful and attended to all our needs. He was very professional at all times, yet we felt his warmth and he was always smiling. He is truly a gem at SW1 lodge and we felt very comfortable with his exceptional service. Our Chef was so nice and friendly, treating us to his breakfast specialties and those breakfasts were remarkable, such depth of flavour. We loved our room so much, the aircon and fireplace was so nice and made the room feel cozy and warm during this cold winter season. We loved the turn down service too and this was a nice touch. We will surely return in the near future to experience this warmth and love again. Warmest regards Ryan and Melissa

Fantastic guesthouse, well situated, beautifully furnished and amazing Staff. The second time we've stayed here and look forward to being back soon!
