Hotel GHM Monachil

The staff is really welcoming no matter where they are: being reception, bar, restaurant. We stayed in the family suite, which comfortably accepts 6 people with 2 bathrooms, the ordeal is to get there. You need to take 2 elevators and walk quite a bit to find the second one. Dinner and breakfast are abundant and very generous with a variety of options.

Our heating system doesn't turn off, which means we had to turn off the electricity entirely to cool off otherwise even naked no one would be able to sleep, after cracked opening the windows it still took 2 full hours to feel the temperature getting lower. But that wasn't by far the worst part. No one tells you about the parking which makes you think twice of going to Sierra Nevada. The hotel didn't offer one because it was fully booked and since we parked on the street the ticket is 200euros. There's not a single spot or place available to park unless you want to go down hill for 15 minutes and then up again - this alone will make you consider getting fined. Hotel also didn't care about the ice in front of their place so it's slippery because of the ice, quite dangerous and easy to fall down and injury yourself. Inside the hotel the renting place is for skiing only so you need to go out and find a place to rent the proper clothing which will cost you about 20eur each. All and all, not worthing coming back since the very city doesn't want tourists there and fines heavily those who find decent spots that won't block the traffic (this is them being nice to you, as the proper way to handle this is getting towed). So you guess it: if they're speedy in fine you why bother spending money there? There's no proper signs or instructions on how to get to the attractions, it'll take you 50 min walking from the hotel to get to the park, but you need to ask around whether you're on the right path.

Großartiges Frühstück und richtig gutes Abendessen, der Verleih ist direkt neben der Rezeption, der Wellnessbereich ist unglaublich liebevoll eingerichtet und der Jacuzzi war richtig schön warm - nicht nur lauwarm, wie man das öfters kennt. Forfaits, Equipment und auch Unterricht konnte ich problemlos vorab buchen und organisieren.

La atención del personal fue excelente, tanto en recepción como en el restaurante. Todo el equipo fue muy amable y atento durante toda la estancia. Teníamos media pensión y la comida fue muy buena: desayuno variado con café Nespresso, y cenas con buffet de ensaladas diario, pasta y platos elaborados que alternaban carne y pescado, además de fruta variada. Las camas eran cómodas. La ubicación del hotel es estupenda, especialmente con nieve: se puede salir esquiando hacia la plaza y volver esquiando prácticamente hasta la puerta. Dispone de futbolín, billar y otros juegos (aunque de pago), lo cual ayuda a pasar el tiempo cuando no se puede subir a pistas.

Las habitaciones son algo pequeñas y necesitan una reforma; con una actualización podrían alcanzar perfectamente el nivel de un 4 estrellas. Las almohadas eran muy irregulares: una cómoda, otra era demasiado dura. La habitación no tenía radiadores, solo calefacción central, lo que hace imposible secar guantes y ropa de esquí después de una jornada bajo la nieve o la lluvia. Esto fue un inconveniente importante dado el temporal que vivimos. Algunos juegos, como la mesa de billar, necesitan mantenimiento (la mesa no está nivelada y las bolas se van siempre hacia el mismo lado). El suelo próximo al balcón bastante fresco, llevar zapatillas o calcetines.
