Admiralty Lodge Motel

25 minute walk to city centre restaurants/shops, nice pool shame they only have 3 lounge chairs no other seating and no umbrellas. Also the code to get into and out of the pool is a secret (I didn’t see it in their detailed guest book and wasn’t told on check in). Kitchen was handy, large sofa, nice sheets. Request a room on the ground floor for an outdoor patio with umbrella. Beautiful sea view and short walk to the beach(must cross a road) which is right in front of the hotel. More likely a 3 star.

Rooms were not clean and half renovated. Pool was dirty. A member of our group stayed 2 years ago and she was disappointed that it had changed so much and felt bad she recommended the hotel.

Large room was great with really nice views across the bay. The Motel feels like it's getting a little tired. Needs a good tidy up and messy around the edges.

Awesome stay. Staff great- especially with a fire drill twice in one stay- they made everything safe quick and easy. Well trained and friendly hospitality :)

We had an upstairs studio room with small kitchen and separate bathroom with spa bath/shower. The room is spacious but dated and does not have a blackout curtain on the translucent glass front door so may not be suitable for light sleepers. Lovely location right opposite the beach with uninterrupted views but a 20 minute walk to restaurants and shops. Reception provides free use of a number of items including DVDs, SUPs and spades - useful if you are planning a trip to Hot Water Beach.

I liked having a lovely pool. Bikes to use. Videos to borrow. Paddle boards. Overall this property is great but little things matter. Light switches not working properly was annoying. Jug kept over boiling due to broken lid. If they took care of these things it would be excellent.

Accomodation was wonderful. Amenities are great.

Spacious, good kitchen facilities and then a great view on the balcony to sit and eat. Lots of equipment to use free of charge from reception and a nice area to base yourself for seeing the area.

We enjoyed our one night stay and decided to stay a second night. Hotel right opposite the beach. It was spacious and comfortable. Kitchen facilities good. Free paddle boards, bikes, umbrella and chairs for the beach that you can borrow. The area is stunning and worth a visit. We would stay here again if the opportunity arose.

Admiralty Lodge is located right across the road from the beach and only a short walk to the town center. We enjoyed seeing sun rise and sun set in the private patio. Our unit is well furnished, even with a computer desk which is rare to find in a motel. The full kitchen has everything we need to cook a simple dinner. The owner (Paul) and his staff were very friendly and helpful. When I asked Paul about the area, he showed me a map and talked passionately about Mercury Bay, the town of Whitianga and things from entertainment to dining. I wished we could have stayed a few more nights at this wonderful place to explore the area. Definitely next time!
