"Excellent value, all services worked perfectly"

10.0

This hostal provides surprisingly comfortable and friendly lodging at a great price. All services, Internet, Air Conditioning, and Water worked perfectly. The staff is friendly and went out of there way to make sure that everything was satisfactory.

"An ok place to be"

6.0

The hotel is ok for travellers who just want a place to stay for a couple of days before flying, given that the hostel is really close to the Barajas Airport. Aside that, I wouldn't recommend it to long stay travellers due to it being a little rough; examples of it are the fact that the tv is placed really high on the wall and that there was a cigarrette burned hole in one of the blankets.

"Clean, Comfortable, Convenient"

10.0

Hostal Emilio was exactly what I needed - an affordable, clean, comfortable, safe place to sleep near the airport the night before an early morning departure. Easy to find and a short walk from the Metro station. Everything was perfect. I was especially impressed by how clean my room was.

"Great location for Madrid airport flights...."

6.0

Stayed here one night before an early morning flight: minutes from terminals 1&2. We normally stay in the same area but at another hotel, which was full this trip. Good points: clean, free off street parking, cheap, quiet street, easy to locate, free wifi (if very spotty). Bad points: shower was tiny, doors were broken, shower head was broken, plumbing very loud. All in all, we would stay there again, but probably only if all others were full. If you need a cheap place for a night or two, this is a pretty good option if you only want an clean bed and safe parking at a low price. Reasonable Spanish is required. Love the authentic feel of the Barajas neighbourhood; good little restaurants and shops nearby.

"Close to the airport, accepts pets but no way...."

4.0

The location is interesting in a cultural way, you visit an area of Madrid most tourist don't ever go... The building is ghastly, 70's era decoration, naked women paintings in the room. Minimal ugly furniture. Lacked in space and cleanliness. No soap. One towel each--no face or washing towel. No breakfast offered. During the night neighbours come to drink and use their Wifi signal... loudly and right in front of our room. Anyone can enter through your window... our room was at floor level.

"Don't expect much"

4.0

Hotel is 10 minutes walking distance from the Metro. Booked a triple room. Room was clean, but the room is dim as only 1 small light was working, so don't expect to do any reading after the sun goes down. Bathroom had no place to hang clothes or towel, and toilet flush handle was broken. Shower stall was tiny, and the shower doors looked like they were gonna collapse on you at any time. After a shower, the whole bathroom would be flooded, and no mat was provided to soak up the water. Soap and shampoo provided, and they tidy the room on weekdays. Staff spoke no English at all. When I went down to ask for toilet paper, they could not understand. They were sitting in front of the computer but could not be bothered to google for a translation. I had to run back to my room to get the toilet roll to show them what I wanted. Conclusion, if you just need a place to sleep at night, this is acceptable.

"Cheap accomodation in Barajas"

6.0

I stayed two nights at the Hostal Emilio and the hostel was okay. Positives are: large enough rooms, good beds, large enough bathroom, free and working wi-fi, free parking for the guests. But there are some negatives that should be addressed: 1.) The reception guys do not speak a single word in English. 2.) The walls in the rooms are so thin, that you can hear other people taking shower, speaking or walking in their rooms like they would be in your own and it definitely wakes you up when someone takes a shower at 4:00 am ! 3.) Be prepared for some mosquitos and since the walls are dark you cannot see them, so bring something against them. 4.) Hostel is in a narrow one-way side street, not easy to find without GPS. 5.) The shower is so small that it might be impossible to use it for more corpulent person. Otherwise it was OK, the price was good and it is one of the cheapest alternatives to overnight in Barajas, close to MAD airport. But there is no shuttle from the airport, so you need a car, a taxi (which makes the price higher) or take a metro and walk. However, not bad if you are looking for a low budget.

"Cheap hostel in Barajas town"

6.0

Hostel is okay. Positives: room large enough, bed fine, bathroom okay, free private parking for guests, good free Wi-Fi. Negatives: the staff doesnt speak any single word English; the walls are so thin than if anyone takes a shower, walks or talks in his room at 4:00, you are guaranteed no sleep as you can hear it like being in your room; shower is so tiny, that it is extremely hard to get in and turn around, I cannot imagine a really fat person taking a shower inside, no way!; hostel located in a narrow one-way side street in Barajas, quite hard to find without a GPS. Good for overnight stay before your flight, but there is no shuttle, so either use a metro and walk or take a taxi, which would higher the costs of course. All in all, not bad for a price, however some things can be improved.
