"Pleasant rooms in a quiet, attractive location but let down by maintenance issues."

7.0

Our room was spacious, light and quiet with a view of the garden. The bed was supremely comfortable - one of the best in during 6 weeks in Scotland - with quality linen. Staff were friendly and obliging. Our evening meal at the hotel was very good.

There was an electrical fault with the shower which, I suspect, was well known to staff and meant that the shower initially wouldn’t work at all and then, after staff had reset the fuse, failed again part way through my shower and I ended up having to manage with a bath. This problem needs to be corrected as a matter of urgency! The towel rail also fell apart the minute I touched it. Breakfast could have been more exciting. More than one chair in the bedroom would have been helpful.

"Great Loch Ness views. Peaceful location. Very comfortable."

7.0

We had a fantastic view of Loch Ness from our bedroom window. The room was large and spacious. The bed , comfortable and bed linen , white and crisp. At Breakfast there was a good choice and cooked items made to order. It was reasonable value for money.

Despite ringing the reception bell, no staff arrived until I found a cleaner who went to find someone, after 10 minutes a member of staff checked us in and another couple who had also been waiting.

"Lovely location, ask for a room with view over the loch"

8.0

Lovely location Comfortable bed and pillows Good breakfast

Waited 10 mins in reception before anyone came, but they were all very polite and friendly. Room (Ericht) was good with lovely view, but bathroom was small and had nowhere to put toiletries.

"Friendly, convenient and comfortable but rather dated."

6.0

Very friendly staff, lots of parking, great views from the hotel lounge areas and front facing rooms. Breakfast was good, they have a restaurant but we went into town to eat (the Lock Inn was excellent). Hotel was kept very warm too!

The hotel is quite dated and doesn't live up to the outward appearance. Reception rooms are fine but the bedrooms and bathrooms are distinctly tired.

"Expensive"

6.0

The breakfast was excellent, literally so much choice, from continental and cooked all included. The omelette was really nice, as were the pastry selection. Staff were friendly too, the Scottish guy staying in the caravan on site doing most of the jobs in the hotel was excellent. The dinner was nice but expensive.

I gave this feedback to the hotel staff before we left, but the mains on the menu are just that "a main". One solitary pie. It comes with NOTHING. If you want chips, or broccoli or carrots it's £6.50 PER EXTRA!!!!!!! Extortion. The beef dish was the same. starters and afters were too expensive to even consider. You're paying for the location, we paid £229 for one night. My suggestion to the hotel, do a 2 course "meal" for a set price of maybe £30, and 3 course for £35. You'll sell way more. Also, Instead of asking people when they sit for dinner if they prefer sparkling or still water with dinner 🤦 a costly mistake for us at £4.70 for a bottle of still water. Would've happily had tap water. Felt ripped off, especially after seeing the dinner menu. Our double had 2 singles pushed together.
