The Champs

Exceptional service and communication from Lise (owner) and her amazing staff. Rooms are spacious and have all the amenities expected for a business / leisure traveler. Breakfast and meal offerings are scrumptious; don't miss out of these! Property is a few minutes away from convenience stores, food establishments, and wonderful beaches (Coconut and Mero Beaches). The unobstructed ocean views from room balcony and restaurant are a must see - sunsets and rainbows are the highlights!

Everything about my stay at Champs was top-notch. Big, comfy bed and a spacious bathroom made for a great room, and the pool hits the spot after a long, hot day of sightseeing. Also, the view from the restaurant has to be the best in town. Speaking of, the meals were outstanding! Temara, Sabrina, and Tarnita spread the shifts out during the day and all will leave you full and satisfied at meal time. All three are also very helpful with advice, directions, or a friendly chat. Tarnita can whip up tasty, creative cocktails as well. Owner Liz had great communication and will be quick to share a digital guidebook with practical advice and sightseeing tips. She also likes to settle into a fun conversation and is happy to help with plans in person too. She organized airport and onward transportation for me as well, which was clutch with a late flight and moving south on a Sunday when most things are closed and buses don't run. If I'm back in the region, there will only be one place I'll stay!

The Champs is the absolute best!! Lise, Sabrina, Tamara, Tarnita and Chef Kevin are an incredible team! We stayed during the mandatory quarantine and the Champs took excellent care of us and always provided great, safe opportunities to explore. Lise set our testing appointment up perfectly and the food is really delicious. Highly recommended, even now with the restrictions! Thank you for a fantastic visit!

The Champs is glorious! A wonderful view, clean, comfortable rooms, great pool and a friendly staff with excellent food (thanks to the staff and Chef Kevin!) We loved it, even during our quarantine, and really enjoyed and appreciated Lise going out of her way to help us plan safe in nature certified activities.

The view from our room was breathtaking. The food in the restaurant was outstanding. The staff was the best, so warm and welcoming, and the owners went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful experience. Liese booked tours for us and taxis and gave us the best advice about what to do in this part of Dominica. The hike in the National Park and tour of Free Up Farm was so good. She also helped arrange transport to the airport for us. The chef made a special playlist for our last night at the restaurant and we loved it. I cannot say enough good about this wonderful small hotel. Stay here if you are on Dominica.

A small hotel with the most amazing personal service. Lise and the staff at Champs went out of their way to ensure we had a good time. From the first morning of our stay Lise took the time to find out what we wanted to do and then came up with suggestions and sorted out arrangements for walks, tours and different ways to explore right across the island. The view across the bay from the restaurant and from the rooms is spectacular. And the Champs is known in the town for the quality of the food at the restaurant so we ended up eating in the hotel on a number of evenings. Thoroughly recommend Portsmouth as a quieter alternative to Roseau when looking for a base to discover this beautiful island.

We were delighted with our stay at The Champs. The staff was wonderful: Owner Lise, and Tami and Tani. The free breakfast was amazing and dinners were just as tasty. Lovely pool, truly comfortable beds, and the staff would prepare a meal for you at any time. The staff will arrange tours or transportation for any activities on the island. They really made us feel at home!

Although we only spent one night at Les Champs, we totally enjoyed our stay. The room is spacious and comfortable, the pool is superb, the food is excellent and the staff are very helpful. Lise is a fantastic and lovely person. We had forgotten our chocolate bars from the Pointe Baptiste chocolate factory in the room fridge and Lise brought them back to our hotel in Roseau the next day.

Boutique Hotel with attention to detail and first class service for its visitors. Located within a central area within Portsmouth. Walking distance to beach. Close to transportation. Easy access to tours. Excellent tour service company with unlimited knowledge of the whole island.Almost didn't want to leave. I will definitely stay here again
