Summerhill House Hotel

This is our second time staying here. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable, the pillows are on the solid side! We love the breakfast - it's the best! The buffet has a big variety on it and there's also a menu included in the price! Lovely helpful staff.

The dinner menu is limited; the only special is roast beef which is quite expensive, so as we ate there two nights we found there was not much choice. By the glass wine choice is also very limited. We came back early Sunday afternoon hoping for afternoon tea but there was nothing available. The kitchen did offer to make us tea. We did not have lunch there so I can't comment on that.

The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and very good quality food. We also appreciated how smooth and efficient the check out process was.

While we appreciated the opportunity for a night away, the overall experience did not represent good value for money. For a hotel at this price point, we expected a noticeably higher standard of service and attention to detail. From receiving no assistance with our luggage on arrival and the absence of basic amenities such as robes and slippers, to waiting an unreasonably long time for a replacement TV remote during a major sporting event, the experience felt underwhelming and fell well short of expectations.

Very good food.

We wanted to stay near Powerscourt and this was such a find - staff were amazing, dinner was geat and the breakfast really was special. Quiet rooms, lovely terrace to enjoy the sun and we hit the mini spa next door - great mini retreat!

Comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast. Staff very nice.

Expensive room rate. Bit dated, bedrooms could do with a little freshening up
