Vale do Lobo Resort

Sewage dumped in the sea 50 mts from thr beach! Disgusting! Floating poop reaches the shore in munites while we are all bathing. They do it in the early morning hoping nobody will notice. But the bubbly water making clear circles were a tail tell.

Great experience. Infrastructure is dated and couple use an uplift. Service is great. Special mention to Berta ( who manages the women’s lockers next to the golf course ) and Monica ( massage Terapist). Both of them were really great. We stayed with the family in an apartment. The apartments are roomy but the decor is dated. Bathrooms and kitchen were great. The “beach club “ is actually a pool overlooking the ocean. Really cool vibe. Fun place. Service was not great. 5/10. Golf course and driving range were great. Restaurants are ok. Ta- Koy had great service and nice environment. Food was ok. The spa was a huge disappointment. Dated, really bad maintenance. I will give it a 2/10. Sauna was not working. Half of the showers were not working. Jacuzzi and pool had missing tiles and didn’t look clean. Massage was good.

Exceptionally clean apartment with staff who could not do enough for me

The villa was excellent, fully stocked. private swimming pool, drivers providing the shuttle service were super friendly and really quite excellent.

Location is okay but not accurately described while booking that the villa was at least 30mins walk from the beach - not what we were looking for. Reception staff were rude and any question we asked their response felt like a chore and that we were inconveniencing them.

The property interior was dated and needed a revamp. It was noisy with dogs barking at times. We did expect a higher quality appartment but it was ok overall.

I have to agree with Robert B that with the closure of Montys (and the removal of the likes of Wendy and Adam), Vale do Lobo has completely changed. We have been holidaying there for more than 20 years, firstly with our children when they were young teenagers, and now as grandparents. We went last week and whilst we had a nice week all together, the Praca entertainment was quite dire, with the exception of the DJ who gave it a bit of life on Saturday and evening meals, with the exception of Sandbanks and Spikes very poor. Also the supermarket was closed for 4 of our 7 days which we was not informed of by our agent. This is not the fault of vale do lobo management, but surely a small shop could have been opened somewhere for the month it was being refurbished. Nowhere to buy even a pint of milk and had it not been for our taxi driver telling us and stopping at a supermarket we would have had nothing, as we do not get a car. In conclusion unfortunately after a long time this was probably our last holiday as definitely feel our age group (60s), and young children are being pushed out to make way for the 20 to 30 year olds and stag and hen parties Well wants to attract.
