Econo Lodge Wytheville I-77 & I-81

Staff was nice. The rooms were clean. It was a nice night.

Bathroom was disgusting. The tub was slimy and not well maintained. We had trouble controlling the heat. Thank goodness we just stayed over night.

Clean room, comfortable, roomy, well kept. Would highly recommend !!!

What I liked is that the owner of the Motel was hands on and very helpful and polite.

requested 6 ground floor rooms, only 2 provided yet at least 10 adjacent to those 2 remained empty

Nice hotel will use again. However breakfast to late for my schedule.

This place might be the ideal thing for you. A shower, bed, and a quick route back to your travels. I had some issues with the lights/outlets in the first room. I was moved to the room next door. They have some wear and tear in the rooms, noticeable wallpaper rips, dings in the wall, etc. The light switches are 3-way, which is odd for this type of motel setup, switches next to the beds operate the bathroom. Keep that in mind. I was only here for 1 night, and it was just a room with a shower and a bed, it had a micro/fridge in the room but its a basic low budget motel. Also being a Choice Member more than likely you won't get the "rewards" for staying here like the Fuel Rewards, apparently they don't participate or they don't know how to acknowledge you had stayed??

We stopped over because the rain was so bad and we still had 500 miles to go. The room was adequate, and clean. The only negative issue is the bedding. The sheet on the mattress was soft which was good of course. However , the top sheet was very rough. It had a texture with little squares on it, so did the spread. Thier was a thin duvet in between. I removed the spread and top sheet and slept under the duvet.

At first this Econo lodge seemed a bit old and tired. The interior decoration was a bit dated. But it turned out to be fine. The bed was very comfy, good towels and shower. The fan blocked out any noise from the nearby highway. Breakfast didn't look very exciting but the coffee was good. Although I didn't use them this time, a refrigerator and microwave can be very helpful for travelers.

Hotel was good. Bathrooms need updated severely. But the sleeping area and bathroom were clean. Carpet needs replaced also. Its good enough for a 1 night stay.
