Baan Karonburi Resort

We had a nice size clean room with a balcony - exactly as the photos. The pool area was nice but the water wasn't filtered enough so there was a film over the surface - not so nice. Breakfast was pretty good with great coffee. Good location for beach, restaurants, and bars.

Don't stay here if you're a non-smoker (as most people are in 2026!). The hotel has a sign at reception stating it is a non-smoking resort but we encountered lots of people smoking at the pool bar and sun loungers. I asked the barman if this was OK and he said "Yes, you can smoke anywhere" and would I like an ashtray!!! I took it up with front desk staff who also said I could smoke anywhere except in my room. The next day I saw the manager and we practically had an argument about the hotel's smoking policy before she eventually went to the pool bar and told her staff to remove all the ashtrays and inform everyone that they could no longer smoke. The next day there were guests smoking at the pool area again and the barman handing out ashtrays!!!!! By now it was day 5 of our 7 night stay so I just decided to put up with the situation until we checked out. The unwillingness by the manager and her staff to enforce the hotel rules regarding smoking dumbfounds me, and I will never stay here again.

The rooms were nice and comfortable, cleaning staff we very nice and helpful.

We had a swim out room, but because the pool is small it was always hot 🔥 Breakfast was pretty poor.
