The Briza Beach Resort Khaolak

We spend 200 days a year in hotels, (on business trips) we needed to escape for a quiet night away from Phuket. We booked at Briza Beach Resort and were most happy with our first night , we extended and stayed 3 nights. Arriving early hoping for an early check in, we were greeted by very genuine happy staff who simply went out of their way to please. You can train staff to be polite but you cant force them to be happy, as are all of the staff here. The simple extras like, helpful security assisting with the car parking and then place a shade over our windscreen. The amazing Ms Duen at breakfast including table service to pour your coffee. One wonders why this hotel is so well run, maybe they are not governed by standard training/rules as are the big hotel chains. Access to outside food and services is all within walking distance in a peaceful quiet village. The only negative is most of the shop staff in the village harassing every tourist, if only they would realise that turns most people away. Thanks to all the Briza staff and managers for a wonderful stay, we will return.

This place is a bit worn out and basic but still decent and relaxing. Beds are hard.

Nice quiet family friendly resort was a good counterpart to busy Bangkok. Hotel facilities are good. Range of options in streets nearby to eat. Good pools and nice beach.

Good location, lovely beach. Our room was very tired, needed updating. Our air conditioning was very poor in our room, WiFi, did disappear in and out frequently. Breakfast selection good.Good local bars, restaurants, money exchange. Stayed for 11 nights. Not a lot of entertainment at hotel, mainly suited for couples.

Hotel was right on the beach with many swimming pools. The breakfast was amazing. However, the bed was extremely hard and not comfortable. The hotel was at the end of the street so very quite but also a close walk to many restaurants. It was a short tuk tuk drive to the main strip which had all the markets and vendors and restaurants. This hotel felt like a resort, had everything you needed And was nice to be on a quite beach that wasn't to busy. I would stay here again!

The hotel is in a great location for families. Right on a beautiful beach and with a 200m strip of restaurants, massage, minimarts etc right outside. Only downside is that a lot of things close quite early eg massage places closed at 10pm even in peak season. The hotel itself is ok. We stayed in a terrace room on the beach side of the resort (not the newer side across the road). The room was a decent size and the terrace was great. The bathroom was a good size however the water pressure was terrible. Also, mostly there was no hot water or if we were lucky it was lukewarm... had to boil the kettle for my daughters baths. The pools were nice but could do with a good clean, the big kids pool was pretty disgusting and the main pool (which also had a kids area) had lots of sand in it. It would be good to have a towel exchange somewhere as you only got clean pool towels if you left them in your room in a pile on the floor/in bath. decking areas v slipperly and HOT. Breakfast was ok, not the best we have had but a reasonable variety. Most annoying thing was that if you left your table to get something they often cleared everything away before you had finished it even if you left bag/sunnies at the table showing you hadn't left. The staff were ok but not the friendliest we have come across and often were seen on their phones. The kids play room was pretty shoddy with no decent toys and a lot smaller than it appears on the website. overall hotel was ok/nice more 3 than 4 star

We absolutely loved our stay here. We had a beautiful beach front room with an awesome view. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Lovely clean and tidy resort. The beach was not too crowded and so made for a peaceful stay. It was nice to be able to walk a short distance from the resort to the local little shops and restaurants. We would definitely love to come back here. It was only a 15 minute taxi ride to the local town. The only negative was that there were a few little things that needed some maintenance work... ie we noticed that some of the balcony railings needed repairing and the couch on our balcony was missing some slats underneath the cushion and so was unsafe to sit on.

We found this hotel to ok but slightly tired. We did not stay in the new block across the road so cannot comment on that facility. Our room was clean, the shower temperature was difficult to control and the barthroom sink only delivered cold water. Our biggest problem was the bed which was very hard and felt like we where sleeping on thick plywood. the staff tried their best by using multiply duvets to improve the bed, but what was really needed was a proper mattress.

Stayed Nov 2017 for 8 nights. Booked beachfront room with great view of ocean. Room as very spacious & terrace had table & chairs plus 2 comfy lounges. Breaky included & ample selection. Staff replenishing food was a bit slow & had to poke my head into the kitchen a couple of times to ask someone if they could fill some items. Staff very friendly & ladies cleaning room were excellent. Bed was a bit hard, but solved with putting doona on top of mattress. Had drinks at bar couple of times - beers could be colder - hubby sent back the ones that were warm, but really didn’t improve much, so we drank at bars outside of the hotel. Overall though we enjoyed our stay in Khao Lak.
