Pleasant Valley Motel West Stockbridge

This hotel was fine for one night, but the substandard beds, lousy pillows, and lack of a usable nightstand between the two beds (we travel with two CPAP machines, so nowhere to put them) made this a one-and-done kind of place. We look for hotels where we can drive right up to the door of the room, and these sometimes have lower standards than the brand-name motels. This was one of the low-par variety.

We had a nice stay in this classic motel which is located on Route 102 just outside West Stockbridge on a spacious property. Check-in was a bit awkward but we were given a room that honored our request and were able to park right outside our door. The room was very clean. The motel probably dates to the 1960s and some furniture was vintage but the room had a nice little fridge and a modest microwave as well as a recently renovated bathroom and excellent wifi. The bedding and carpet appeared reasonably new. We slept well but the pillows were thin. We supplemented them with a couple we travel with. The area around the hotel was pleasant with birds and trees but also traffic. The turnpike is nearby as well as traffic on the facing road. The room A/C however had a dehumidifier mode which added comfort to our stay and also masked any outdoor noise. All in all, a good classic motel experience and we'd stay here again.

There wasn’t anything I liked about this property. It needs a complete renovation or a deep cleaning. Very nasty!

The room was clean and warm. Plenty of hot water. VERY outdated. But for the price..get what you pay for.

This motel was centrally located. There were many cleanliness issues in the room - stained shower curtain, very dusty. The room was 45 degrees when we entered and took a very long time to warm up (6 hours before it reached 60 degrees with the thermostat all the way up).

The room was supposed to be for a king sized bed. That is what I reserved at least. For some reason we were give a room with double beds. Also, the room was like a fridge. The heat was not on. The temperature on the thermostat was bottom out. All of this started off with waiting outside in the cold at the check in window. Which a sweet elderly lady who spoke barely any english tried to assist me. It was like her son, I am assuming the owner, forgot about my reservation. After waiting for a while and talking with the son on the phone I was finally given a room. The room was dark, dank, and again, freezing cold. I left the room, asked for a refund, which I was promptly refused and put that motel in my rearview. I would recommend everyone avoid this place. The service was awful. Again the elderly woman was sweet, but she should defintely not be left alone trying to handle that without speaking english fluently. Other than her, I have nothing good to say about this place.

The owner lied about my 1st card being declined when I was charged and had me use another card to pay for the room I already paid for
