We only stayed for one night but would definitely return. The room was spacious and the Irish breakfast the next morning was very good. It was well worth the money that we spent.

"Disappointing, rude and uncomfortable"

2.0

Very disappointing. I've driven past a few times and it seemed very quiet as though it was closed but having looked on Booking.com seemed it was open and having reviewed the pictures of the rooms they seemed full of character so decided to give it a go. I had 2 coach rooms - not in the main hotel but on the same site just opposite reception. It boasts an award winning restaurant - it was empty, the menu wasn't great but the food was okay - not award winning but acceptable. It is easy to access from the N7 and very close to Naas, not walking distance though and there is only a cinema close by, nothing else other than industrial units. The outside of the building looks very dated and unloved, as does the restaurant and rooms... not character but just old and un-cared for. I don't know what the rooms in the hotel look like. WiFi is free but has no internet access - to get internet access you need a cable from reception to plug into the wall socket so if you have a laptop it needs a LANport or adapter. The room wasn't great... at all, it was a good size though, furniture was old and wasn't cleaned very well. The TV was up very high - a very old box with a few channels but much too high. It was cold and the heating didn't work. There is underfloor heating in the bathroom - you have to turn the thermostat up which is above the door (you'll need a chair to stand on) I went for breakfast - which I included at £12 extra upon booking. When I sat for it and got a coffee a man came over and asked for the room number which I gave him, he abruptly said I hadn't paid for breakfast and that I needed to go and pay first... this was quite embarrassing as people could over hear - I informed him that I had included it and he told me to go and sort it out at reception with the manager, I did so after breakfast and showed him my booking confirmation showing it was included to which he responded that I added it after the event - I didn't argue with him, just left. Very disappointing, uncomfortable stay - many improvements required - I won't be returning to this one Not value for money - very expensive at 90 euro a night

"Refresh Needed"

6.0

We stayed in this hotel as we were guests at a wedding locally and we were underwhelmed. From the road the building looks lovely and boutiquey, but as we pulled into the car park behind the impression was reduced significantly. Obviously you can’t judge a venue by its car park, but it didn’t set a nice scene. The reverse exterior is very tired and is in need of a bit of sprucing up. The reception area was bright, clean and very welcoming. The girl on the front desk checked us in efficiently and promptly and kindly booked a taxi for us to the wedding venue - the less said on the quality and cleanliness of that the better. The lift smelled strongly of smoke - which I presume is a result of the rooms being non-smoking and guests having to go up & down to the smoking area. The bedroom we stayed in was a “junior suite” which would imply some level of luxury. It did not have any level of luxury. There were pieces of art hanging askew on the walls, visible cracks, cobwebs on the ceiling, and scuff marks on the paintwork. General wear & tear is expected and understandable but considering the hotel is well established you would presume that rooms would be maintained on a regular basis. Furniture was old fashioned dark wood, and the mattresses while firm were very thin. Within the room there was a desk & chair, a double bed, single bed, tv unit, wardrobe, and a very old fashioned wooden framed couch and table. But this didn’t feel like the best use of the space at all. The was no overhead light in the main part of the room - only lamps on either side of the bed and a light over the door. The bathroom was HUGE, bigger than our spare bedroom, but again not the best use of space at all. Bath with a shower was tucked away into a corner, the toilet was on the middle of a wall - which meant that you had to awkwardly turn to get paper. The sink sat in the middle of a long unit on its own. Another point would be that the toilet paper they provide is the cheapest of the cheap. The type that’s so rough and so thin that you need to use far to much so your fingers don’t go through it. Shower had an ok amount of pressure and was easy to use - but the curtain was barely long enough to stay inside the bath as requested by a sign on the wall. Bare minimum of towels provided also. The bathroom had so much potential - a wall in shower with a separate bath would use up some of the excess space and would deffo provide some of the luxury one would expect in a “junior suite”. Breakfast was in a word - meh. Self service (surprising considering it is such a small hotel), over cooked and oily. We were very hungry and ate what we could but didn’t enjoy having to sponge the oil off our over cooked eggs before we could eat. Considering we spent €170 for two people one night B&B, it was not worth it. Hotel is basic - there is WiFi available, according to the guest book, but the front desk staff never even mentioned the password or how to access. The TV has about 6 channels - a BBC and what appeared to be multiple sports channels, but none of the standard SaorView channels. Hotel is in dire need of modernisation, investment and redecoration. We have stayed in basic B&Bs that have been much cheaper and far superior. In its current state - we would not stay again.

"Very dissapointing"

This hotel was advertised as a Country House Hotel, all the grounds have been sold off to the surrounding industrial estate, leaving no outdoor space, The hotel itself was dirty, tired and dated.
