Kildonan Lodge Hotel

We a group of 5 loved our stay - we stayed in the back house and there is a lovely garden in front that we entire in the mornings. The main house was very nicely decorated. The location is very easy to reach the city center

You can hear the guest above walking around.

Beautiful old mansion. Very nice breakfast. Right next to bus stop with good service to town. Helpful staff. Quiet at night. Very clean with modern bathroom and good hot water. Nice tea service in room.

Only one bedside table by double bed. Lights by bed did not work. Only one hand towel for two people.

The bathroom is very nice and clean.

The curtains should be wider and cover the window.

Reasonably quiet. Good parking. Great mattress, must have been brand new. Communication beforehand was good. Booked for easy access to Waverly train station, but bus not feasible with luggage and had to book a taxi anyway. Otherwise good affordable bus service from town center, not walkable to tourist sites or transportation hubs.

"Executive" room with king bed that took up almost all available space making narrow spaces to walk between it and other furniture. Not enough room for 2 suitcases. Poor lighting (fluorescent bulbs throughout); one fixture's bulb not working. "Ground floor" means daylight basement with access onto alleyway. Didn't feel very secure--old locks, window onto alley could be accessed easily. Not sure of security measures. Clean appearing but mold and crusty crud in bathroom corners. Distinct strong bleach smell upon arrival. Tea kettle element rusted and corroded/ leaky. Really not a space to spend any time other than sleeping and bathing. Didn't try the bar upstairs.
