The property is a beautiful old hotel / restaurant in a picturesque village. We booked rooms and a table for a family Christmas meal 3 months in advance. This was the mid point for those living in the North of England and those living in the South. Three days before we arrived we were informed there was a Christmas party with disco booked to go on until about midnight and there maybe some noise, what we didn’t realize was that the disco would be held in the reception / bar area which meant we would have nowhere to go to chat after our meal. The day before our meal we had a call asking us to move our booking from 7.30pm to 6pm due to the party. We reluctantly compromised on 6.30 given that we all had a minimum 3 hour journey to the venue for some the time change was tight given other commitments. The hotel could have warned us long before about the party and the need to change our plans a cynic might say they left it to the last minute knowing it would be difficult ult for us to find alternative accommodation and a table for 8 somewhere comparable and so we would have to accept the change of plans imposed on us by the hotel and the noise from the disco which meant sleep was interrupted! Had high hopes and the staff and food were excellent and the hotel is lovely but the way we were treated is very disappointing and it’s not big enough to accommodate a disco in what is a small reception / bar area without inconveniencing everyone else staying at the hotel.

"Maybe just the room"

4.0

We were in room 24, not sure if it wasjust a bad room but the constabt dronibg noise all night like there was a boiler room behind ours. No curtains, just a blind, and it over looked the carpark with light coming through all night. And the temperature was insane, heating full whack every where with no way of cooling room down. We arent particularly fussy sleepers, and I'm sure there are better rooms, but we both didnt sleep for a moment, at 3am we were contemplating getting a taxi an hours drive home. But the staff are good, and the breakfast was great. Just the worst comfort level of a room I've experienced

"expensive dog friendly hotel"

8.0

Overall a nice hotel with lovely team members, can't fault them one bit, but, £30 per night per dog to stay at this hotel and to be told we cannot eat in the restaurant as the dog cant go on carpetted areas, as well having to provide our own dog bedding and towels is not what we were expecting. The dog wasn't even allowed to be showered if he got dirty, but we could be charged for cleanliness issues in the waiver we signed. We were given £3-4 worth of treats poo bags and toys on arrival, however, the provisions for pets were very limited and although the staff were friendly, the overall policy and cost meant we didn't feel comfortable with our dog there. The food was nice but overpriced in our opinion.

Room not as advertised . Paid extra £20 for top room - was t available . Employees didn't accept error and continued to try and justify rather than saying sorry. We didn't eat in hotel for dinner / breakfast so only one loser

Lovely stay at the Wroxton House Hotel. Room was clean, up to date and comfortable. Hotel has a lovely bar and restaurant. Plenty of parking and well located. Dog friendly which is great but we thought £30 extra per night for the dog was excessive, much more expensive than other hotels.

"Lovely hotel, great staff, fantastic location. "

10.0

We had read some of the reviews on this hotel and were a little concerned however we had no need to be. Everything from check-in to check-out was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room (dog friendly) was nice and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service was fantastic. We had a really lovely stay and we would definitely stay here again when in the area. All staff made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough for us. The village of Wroxton is picture postcard and well worth a little walk around if you are staying over.
