Loved the location at the beach with views of the waves & sunrise. Clean & spacious

Location, size of room (oceanview with balcony), friendly/helpful staff (reception & cleaners), clean and tidy.

No control of the lights on the balcony. Light automatically comes on once dark & doesn't go off until 9pm - which felt light a spotlight on you in the evening. Ended up keeping curtains shut to block out light. Possibly not so bad if in room facing out to sea rather than down the street.

Well laid out and a great location.

The location is brilliant - close to lovely cafes, and of course, the ocean.

Considering the hotel describes itself as "One of New Zealand’s best luxury hotels", I felt like they really set themselves up to disappoint. In reality it's nothing more than a functional hotel. It's very dated, with nothing about it qualifying as luxury in my opinion, apart from being so close to the beach. Also, whilst it has a car park it was full so I was unable to use it. There way plenty of on street parking though.

Superb location with lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Fantastic service, views and location. Parking was a little tricky until we found out they had a great underground car park. Spacious and comfortable room. Amazing shower. Excellent restaurant next door.

Pillows were a bit uncomfortable.
