Thermen Bad Nieuweschans

I arrived in Thermen Bad Nieuweschans about 300 km into a solo bikepacking trip, and instantly made use of the saunas and hot tubs. I particularly liked the unique vibe of the northern light sauna, the scandinavian scenery really adds to the experience. I also had a relaxing massage, tasty coffee with cake and a dinner, and I have to say, I felt fully rested the next morning and could continue on my trip feel8ng relaxed and fresh.

No complaints.

- spa facilities - location and outdoors, quiet and peaceful garden - staff was friendly

- very small room - cheap renovation visible, including floor carpet cut and glued to a bench added to the room - mold spots in the bathroom ceiling - no way to lock the bathroom door - 3 restaurants/bars in a 4star hotel and all of them barely have any variety of drinks available (i.e no whiskey, no cognac but about 6 wines and a few beers, aperol sprintz and one of the cheapest gin & tonic one can find) - complete lack of any amenities in the room - no indoor gym, only outside facilities possible (park gym) - check in and out of both hotel and sauna not possible in the same location, overnight guests have to walk back and forth - breakfast options limited (especially for people on diets, vegetarians, vegans)

Perfekt für einen kleinen Urlaub. Nur das Essen in der Sauna ich schon recht hochpreisig aber auch lecker und ausgefallen … also ist der Preis annehmbar

The hotel rooms are small but newly renovated and comfortable. The spa offers a variety of saunas with different temperatures and themes. During my stay, it didn’t feel crowded—possibly due to controlled occupancy or just good luck.

The breakfast selection was limited, but the available options were tasty.
