Gangnam Artnouveau City

The buffet breakfast was tasty with good variety and reasonably priced. There is also a Korean grill restaurant in the hotel where we enjoyed a good meal one evening. The staff were always helpful and responsive. The fridge in our kitchen area was the largest I've ever seen in a hotel and more than adequate. There was plenty of wardrobe space with good hangers provided, also a good amount of drawers and storage space. Also, no shortage of mirrors. The location was excellent with many food choices within 5 minutes' walk. Also within 5 or 6 minutes' walk were Gangnam-Daero (main road through Gangnam area), Gangnam subway station and the bus stop for the 6009 luxury bus (costing only 18,000 Korean Won) direct to Incheon international airport. It was a comfortable and pleasant stay on the whole

The central heating was rather warm and apparently controlled centrally. However, we were able to open the bedroom windows to let in cool air. The light switches for multiple lights took a bit of getting used to. We were there for 9 days and on two of those days could smell cigarette smoke in our bedroom. It appeared to be coming through a vent in our bathroom. Fortunately, the offending guest moved out after 2 days so there was no further problem. In general, the hotel staff responded positively when any issues were raised.

The hotel is a 7-minute walk from Gangnam subway station exit 5. There was a smoking station on the way, so mask-wearing is recommended if you're travelling with children.

The shower drainage clogs regularly, flooding the rest of the bathroom area. We called the maintenance person, and it only worked for a couple of days, so we had to run the water sparingly to let the water drain... There was mould growing on every corner of the bathroom. The washer's dry setting is too hot, causing the laundry to shrink... You may want to run the bathroom fan and range hood fan if you decide to airdry your laundry. The cleaning lady only advised that I could have asked for a drying rack when I checked out. We stayed there for 15 days...
