Fairfield Inn and Suites Columbus Polaris

I have stayed here many times. Usually, everything is fine. The shower in my room had no hot water. I told management as I was leaving for work. I was told to come back and check the water and if it was cold, let them know. I was there on business and my schedule did not permit me coming back to the hotel to check the water. They could have checked the water while I was gone, so this request was ridiculous. One of the amenities is coffee in the room. I used the coffee day one, none was brought day two or three. Housekeeping was in my room to provide towels on day three, but did not clean the room or provide coffee.

Last minute trip to the area for one night. Marriott Branded lodging is intended to deliver a consistent product to their Bonvoy members. I realize that most properties are owned by investors or groups, and that many outsource the actual operations of the properties to a vendor and then simply pay Marriott a fee to use their brand, some do this well, others fail. So there are the owners, the actual contracted management and then at some point Marriott. Would not stay here again. Front desk - The gent at the front desk was professional and helpful. Lobby - what you would expect for a mid-level property Room - tile floor in bathroom was badly cracked in many places, the tub did not drain when showering (yuk), the AC groaned and rattled all night, no amount of adjusting could stop this, the TV had about a 5-6 second delay when trying to navigate the menu and guide. Breakfast - let's face it Fairfield used to have great breakfasts, but they have given up. The staff was absent, the food not replenished, when you could actually find someone, the answer was we are out (25 minutes after breakfast hours started), the coffee was sour, no eggs even though there was a continually empty chafing dish with a sign that said eggs, not a single piece of fruit to be found, oatmeal was about a 2 inch layer welded to the bottom of the tub, no english muffins, so essentially the entire thing was some type of meat/sausage and machine orange juice. No one expects fine dining but come on this was inedible and there were multiple people that were frustrated and just walked out, like us. This was a zero effort exercise for this property. I am more concerned about the location, cleanliness, function and safety than anything else, but Fairfield bundles in their cost of breakfast in the price of their room, I would rather have two rates, one with and one without. I think we are done with Fairfield.

Breakfast needs improvement, no eggs on Monday and only egg whites on Tuesday beside the usually waffle option..

I have zero complaints. The rooms were spotless, even under blue light. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The checkin was super quick despite it being a busy day. The room was vmclean, comfortable and quiet.

Staff was nice. TV did not work, was not connected. When I told the front desk on check out, they were very quick to note it down to get it fixed. I did not use wifi, pool, or exercise facilities. Breakfast was delicious!
