A Casa Do Caseiro

Højt over Funchal. Fald 246 meter på 2 km til byen. Man kan gå ned, men tag bus nr 19 op. God udsigt og stille kvarter.

Vriendelijk personeel, properheid, kwaliteit van het ontbijt, keukentje met koelkast ter beschikking van de klanten, aangenaam zwembad, goede matrassen, leuk terras, … De accommodatie is immers in het echt fraaier dan op de foto’s

De locatie: ver van zowel de stad als Monte, met heel steile straten. Er zijn zeer weinig restauranten op loopafstand. Het huis ligt bovendien op 50 meter van de autosnelweg waardoor slapen met open venster en zonder oordopjes onmogelijk is. De kamer en de badkamer zijn wat klein maar netjes.

The place reminded me of an old Italian villa - in a good way. the room was clean and nice. We had a cool balcony with a good view and there was even a place where we could dry our clothes and towels.

I mean, if you have put in solid hours on the trail then once you get back to the hotel and then go downhill to the center, the walk back to the hotel is not exactly a joy - you'll have to put in some leg work. Still, if you're fit, should not be a problem. The hotel does not have its own parking for the guests, you have to go down a block and park your car in the public parking/on the side of the street. It is not 100% convenient, but it worked.

Breakfast and the communal kitchen as well as the local restaurants. The outside terrace was also nice.

The bed was not the most comfortable
