Quamby Estate - 20 Minutes from Launceston

Everything! Beautifully appointed, historic homestead. Delicious dinner setup for us in the library. Staff very warm and professional. 9hole golf course. can’t recommend it highly enough.

We loved the english country manor feel of the property & the grounds. The three course evening meal was beautiful. The bathroom was spacious and the underfloor heating welcome although the weather was mild.

The room was a little on the cramped side, only one lounge chair for 2 people. The tea & coffee facilities were a little light on (more coffee pods & milk would be nice). More signage on the way in would be very helpful eg- where to park, where to turn to get to reception, etc.

Very poorly serviced , particularly considering this property claims to be luxury accommodation and charges accordingly. Very little supplied in the room. Such a mean amount of tea , coffee , milk , that we kept having to chase up more ( when we could find someone to ask ). A basket of junk food snacks in the room that had to be paid for if used . One would think for such hefty prices charged that at least a small tasty snack to have between breakfast and dinner could have been provided. Tea / coffee making area was not cleaned up , clean cups not provided . Containers full of cigarette butts lying around, obviously not emptied for some time ( the pic of butts below was straight outside our side door where we had hoped to sit ). Breakfast dishes left sitting on our table much of the day. Dirty tablecloth left on the table rather than placing a fresh one on the table for the evening meal. The food was shockingly overpriced for the standard of what was provided. To give an example, the steak was served with just some chips , that was it ! We booked in to this place to celebrate a milestone birthday , but left feeling disappointed and ripped off. We paid for luxury accommodation, but that was not what we received. I note that similar complaints have been made before on other forums , so it seems apparent that whilst the owners are happy to collect the money , there is little will to improve service provision.
