The property is in a good location and very nice

There was no kids area

Monkey menace, bad rooms, smelly, nice chef though, absolutely horror

Every thing was bad

My husband had difficulty in climbing up and down the stairs to the second floor where our room was. The front desk officer Mr. Shavendra, very kindly accommodated our request to change room to ground floor. He was the most courteous and hospitable staff based on all my interactions with the reception team. A lot of other staff lacked basic manners to talk to the guests. Miss Uzmaira from the 1936 restaurant served us very kindly. The property has good seating area outside in their gardens. They arrange for taxis to go anywhere as per govt approved rates (ask for rate cards to choose your car) and ponys are also available from just outside the hotel.

Luggage didnt arrive in room after 15-20 mins of check in and I had to call to remind for this. It rained at night and since we were on upper floor, heard loud noise from rain on the roof and woke up because of that. Ordered room service menu as the one in the room was not getting scanned. The room service menu didnt arrive even after 15 mins and when I called again for the same, I was informed to call on another number! This was insane as I had already waited for the menu for so long due to misinformation. Ended up frustrated and going to the restaurant to eat. The replenishment of food items in breakfast is slow and had to be requested instead of the staff taking proactive approach. This was the worst stay in all of my Kashmir trip... from check in to food to poor quality of service and lack of hospitality. I felt like it was a severe waste of money. We checked out of this hotel and shifted to the another one where we got treated amazingly. There is no view from the room except for tall trees, you cannot see the mountains or rivers or anything scenic. The 1936 restaurant is severly understaffed and it took ages to clean tables, bring menus and get food. The food was average and not value for money at all.

Property was well built, location was good

rooms were very small to occupy for continuous stay.. not able to move if we have 2-3 suitcases with us in room. No space for dressing and cupboards were very small…

Rooms we cramped, even a jr suit room was smaller than a double bedroom in a standard hotel. On top of that, the rooms are cramped in basement.

Food was poor in taste, temperature and freshness.
