Lavender House B&B

I booked a room for my Brother & his Wife to celebrate their 1st Wedding Anniversary and arranged a high tea there also. We all had a lovely time, Lyn & John are very hospitable and friendly hosts!

A nice quiet little getaway

Facilities: Tired, Ordinary; Value: Over-priced; Service: Amateur, Below average; Cleanliness: Dirty, Untidy, Poor; BYO heater as the small one provided did nothing to heat the large space. BYO cooking items, kitchen poorly stocked.

Facilities: Unpretentious; Value: Average price; Service: Sufficient; Cleanliness: Pleasant; Near the Pelican feeding which is main attraction. It rained 1 n 1/2 day out 2 days we were there, so nothing much to do and see.

While the apartment is okay albeit very dated and. A musty smell, we did not feel secure as the balcony sliding door facing the street on the ground floor has a faulty lock. I did not feel safe sleeping there with two young children - anyone could have come in. Would be fine if you are young single people. The major issue issue is the owner John who was rude and a "bully boy". Linda his wife was fine. We told them of our concern within half an hour of being in the apartment but John said there had never been a security issue and the Entrance was a safe place. We left and went to a Caravan Park to a lockable and fully secured 2bedroom cabin. The next morning we rang - John was rude, arrogant and dismissive - he had found people to take the apartment for the next two nights and refunded two nights but refused to refund the first night despite us not staying there. Not I place I would recommend

Lovely place to stay and is the cleanest i have ever stayed at and with a/c and o/head fans, windows that open and a very quiet street, sleeping was not a problem. The hosts love a chat and only ever asked that if we wanted anything different or that they had not provided, that we tell them what we want and they were happy to accommodate our requests. It is very close to the surf club and only about 1/2 km to centre of The Entrance town and shopping.
