Visir Resort Spa

The rooms are clean, spacious and peaceful each with a sizeable balcony, air conditioning unit and lovely views. Common areas are really well kept generally but the building itself could do with a fresh coat of paint on the exterior as it looked a bit grubby. Lovely pool area right next to the bar and outdoor restaurant which both look really pretty at night. The staff here are so helpful right from our arrival; we didn’t expect to be able to check in straight away because we were a bit early but they made us feel so welcome and were really accommodating throughout. We can definitely recommend getting a taxi with Bartellemo (ask at reception to book) into Mazara del Vallo (for us, it cost €10 each way). He doesn’t speak a word of English but with a few phrases in our basic Italian and a little bit of help from reception, we were able to arrange time and location for pick up for an evening sampling Mazara’s beautiful scenery and enjoy a lovely meal.

L hotel a suo tempo sarà stato grandioso ma oggi è letteralmente un grande mosaico che perde pezzi, offre tanti servizi ma tutti di qualità scadente, tutto datato è usurato. Dico solo che si spaccia per un 4**** S, e poi ti offre durante la colazione (già scadente di suo) il caffè della macchinetta, avete letto bene il caffè si fa alla macchinetta, perché quello fatto dal barista è un extra.

Struttura confortevole dotata di servizi importanti come piscina, Spa e palestra. Si respira l’aria di un fasto ormai passato. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo.

Deludente! Inconvenienti di ogni tipo (dal cambio stanza notturno causa blatta e al successivo cambio il giorno dopo senza alcun aiuto da parte dello staff) alla colazione a buffet (non di altissima qualità) consumata all'aperto, sotto il sole e attaccati dalle mosche. Servizio ristorante lentissimo. Poca attenzione al cliente in generale. Servizi non all'altezza di un 4 stelle. In generale ha disatteso le grandi aspettative che avevamo alla prenotazione.

Hotel consigliatissimo. Camere spaziose silenziose comfortevoli letto comodo. Tutto ok. Soggiodno piacevole e relax gatantito. Consigliatissimo

We had booked this all-inclusive stay (hotel + plane). • Very disappointed, the reception, the service itself. • The architecture is of a Moorish style. The perfect hotel to be left abandoned. The outdoor pool and bar are closed and under construction. The hotel has about 20 rooms. • The staff speaks Italian and very little English. Not easy to be understood. • The rooms deserve some renovations, a lot of tasks on the carpet, under the bed and behind the coffee tables are sal. Housewives do not visibly clean the floor. The curtains are dirty and dusty. • The bathroom is suitable with shower, toilet, 2 sinks and 1 bidet. However, the mosaic tiling of the shower left with each use. (See photos) • In the neighborhood, there is not much, it is a rather deserted residential area. Without a car, it's quickly boring. • The breakfast is very modest. • The hotel restaurant has a very limited menu. If you do not like Mediterranean cuisine this will be a problem. • The hotel has a spa, indoor pool, steam room and sauna. Their use is regulated by schedules that are often not respected. The spa staff opens and closes the pool whenever they feel like it. Finally, I was disappointed with this hotel because the photos that described it and sold it were really to its advantage, in fact it was not the same thing. (Mc Donald's effect.) Delighted to have only a short stay of 3 days. I clearly don’t recommend this hotel.

This is a nice resort with many amenities if you are looking for a spa resort. Unfortunately this resort values conserving energy, i.e. low electric bills over the comfort of their clients. The AC is almost non existent in all common areas and lighting in hallways so dark you need a flashlight to find your room. We were part of a tour so our dinner was without any choices. My low expectations to the quality of the meal was met.

Spent one night here with my husband before travelling back to London. This was the last of our 11 day holiday. Excited at the thought of staying at this 4 star superior rated hotel and spa resort. . Positives : The Room was clean albeit very dated; the pool area nicely decorated - but lots of insects and got lots of bites - just unlucky ( spent most days at the Beach / pool areas in Siracusa and not bitten once ...) There is free Parking. Negatives. The breakfast is one of the poorest I’ve seen in a long while. The breakfast area is located in the basement which has no natural light and is thus dark and uninviting .Goodness knows why they can’t serve breakfast outside as dinner is served outside in the open (probably because dinner is extra and not included in the deal)I’ve taken a picture of the view from the basement which is not attractive . The quality of food is in my opinion dire - especially when Sicily is renowned for its fantastic Mediterranean food.I’ve tried to capture the quality and presentation of the food in some of the photos . Stale reheated croissants .Mostly burnt. Unhygienically laid out in a plastic container; No assortment of cheeses- save for processed cheese slices no choice of meats or bread. Very little fresh fruit .People looked depressed at breakfast . One couple who were staying there for 10 days said they rarely ate breakfast in the hotel! The Pool rules. You have to wear a shower cap 2 Euro charge -I travel a lot -in some 5 star locations and have never seen this rule before. . The place really is out of the way. Even with a car which I would say is essential there’s very little to do or places to go and visit- so short stays only are recommended. We go to Sicily every year in the early Summer and especially the South is stunningly beautiful. Here there was very little to see. Images of Elliott’s Wasteland came to mind - just miles of nothing .... There was a spa incentive which was a discount but this was only for the 75 euro massage. No other choices. So I declined. The place really needs updating and looks very seventies. Very tired and dark inside. I’m at a loss how anyone can give this place a positive rating . I found it depressing .I’m hoping that with constructive criticism improvements can be made.Starting with breakfast Thank goodness the booking was for 1 night only ...

My wife and I have been at the Visir Resort today for a SPA treatment ("50 sfumature di rosso") + a day use room. First of all I'd like to point out that I'm writing this review hoping to help the hotel improving their service as we think the treatment we bought was absolutely very good, the details, though, were not excellent as you may expect. First of all we booked our room more than a month ago and yet when we arrived we were told it was not ready and that we had to wait about 30 minutes to use it. So we were offered to go straight to the SPA and change our clothes there. At the SPA reception they first asked us to get changed in their public locker room even if we booked the "privé" and a private room as well! After noticing our reaction we were offered to go to the privé to get changed. The receptionist told us our clothes would have been moved to our room while we were treated with the massage. After we finished our massage we had to wait about 10/15 minutes at the reception for the privé to be ready. In the privé we found a bottle of prosecco and 2 plastic glasses (200 euros of treatment don't include proper prosecco glasses...) After 1 h and a half of using the privé we were told to go to the hotel reception to get the key for the room. At the reception, at the entrance, dressed only with our bathrobes, we had to wait for about 15 minutes before someone came to give us the key. When we entered the room our clothes were not there (we had to contact the reception to get them back) and we noticed it was a room for disabled people with the bathroom WC very uncomfortable, and we paid 80 euros to use the room for 5 hours... As I wrote above the massage and the privé with its hot tub and bio sauna were excellent, I cannot say the same thing of the rest of the experience. These are just details, but if you expect excellence you may easily be disappointed.
